I'm not really a big fan of the roguelike genre but I really love the art style of the game and the gameplay is fun and entertaining but again what I love most about this game was the art style the artist did a really good job in my opinion
I finished Act 1. It is a little difficult at first, but it quickly feels really satisfying rolling circles around bosses once you learn the controls and their attack patterns. I especially like the story of this game. Sen is an... interesting... character, who I don't see represented in media all that often.
I don't have much experience in rogue-like games so this is new to me, and challenging because of my skills. Love the art and the story, this is a good game I would recommend playing.

A fun little roguelite. The visuals and style is fantastic, with enough story to satisfy one invested in the plot. The mechanics, while fairly basic, are executed well and balanced accordingly. There's some potential to find really strong combinations but nothing I've found is overly OP yet. Overall, well priced for the amount of potential play I'm likely to get out of it
A very fun game overall. Once you get used to the controls and timing your attacks combat becomes very fluid and has a real sense of accomplishment and improvement. The art, character design and music work together well, making the setting feel gloomy but not overwhelmingly so. Only real issues are the usual early access hiccups. Some stuff needing polish and a few more animation frames, but none of this makes the game less enjoyable. If you're looking for a nice, fun game with interesting content and compelling story that sometimes hits a bit close to home, you should give Burning Branch a try! And playing with a controller will likely be easier than a keyboard and mouse.
At time of writing I have finished Chapter One, and have already fallen deep into the "one more run" gameplay loop that I love in Roguelikes. The surprisingly moving music, gorgeous visual backdrops, and tight gameplay all come together in an impressively cohesive and enjoyable experience, making a definitive hidden gem of an Early Access game from a new developer. Burning Branch sticks to that formula which makes roguelikes such as Hades (a clear inspiration) so captivating, and does it well! Like, seriously, if you've played Hades, and are as desperately excited for the sequel as I am, give this a try :3
Good!
Incredibly fun game would recommend.
Solid combat, interesting bosses, utterly depressing story... yup, that's a "souls like!"
Surprising depth, amazing characterization, immersive music, and storytelling that hits hard if you open yourself up to it.
