About
Bump in the Night is a single-player horror game where you are tasked with investigating a haunted location that features one of many unique ghosts and a multitude of different scares.
Explore a range of haunted locations, each with distinct map features, challenges, and varying difficulty levels. Certain ghosts may find it easier to use their unique abilities on specific maps or in different ways, and each location offers unique clues for certain types of evidence.

Bob and Susan are at your beck and call! Assign tasks, distribute equipment, and specify areas for investigation as you see fit. Although they're capable of conducting autonomous exploration, strategically directing them towards suspected ghost locations increases the chances of making important discoveries. You can't leave the HQ but they can.
And you can trust them. Right? Sure.
Your team has established a command center in one of the rooms on-site, serving as the operational hub for the mission. From here, you can take command by delegating tasks, orders and equipment to your NPC investigators. Monitor strategically placed cameras through the displays, watching out for paranormal activity. Additionally, document any evidence by taking photos and logging in your journal
Each Ghost has a unique set of three types of evidence it can trigger
Ghosts have distinct personalities. The Trasgo likes to throw objects more than other ghosts. Ectophages like to mess with electronics. Shadows, unsurprisingly, like the darkness. Each of the other ghosts have their own likes, dislikes, and quirks as well.
Finally, each ghost has a unique ability or behavior that typically comes out later in a mission. You'll need to figure out for yourself...
With these three layers of ghost behavior, clever players will be able to figure out what ghost they're faced with - even if no direct evidence presents itself. However, be cautious, as a wide range of events can still unfold that are applicable to all ghosts.
A common staple of the paranormal investigation genre is the "hunt" where the ghost builds up to an active state where it becomes actually dangerous.
The ghosts in BITN can indeed enter such a state, but don't think that you are safe outside of those times - far from it. Keep aware, keep vigilant, because death can come for you and the investigators under your command in unexpected ways. Remember, you're in the ghost's territory for the entire duration of your mission.
Every investigation is unique, ensuring no two experiences are the same. If you come across an especially intriguing sequence of events, you have the option to save, replay, and share the seed that generated it.
Rest and restore your faculties at your paranormal investigation firm's office between missions. Read up on lore, pour yourself some coffee, pet some cats.
Twitch integrations are all the rage these days, and BITN is no different! Let your viewers take command of Bob and Susan, giving them orders with chat commands.
Not a streamer? No problem! You can enable your Steam friends to control Bob and Susan via Steam chat messages, if you so desire.
For those not faint of heart, a second level of chat control (both Steam and Twitch) can be enabled allowing viewers to trigger scares and attacks.

This is a very enjoyable ghost hunting experience from the eyes of a supervisor of two very iffy employees. Love Bob and Susan, but anyone who has played it know, they are a liability! Jokes aside, the game is great, the scares are fun, and I love the unique aspect of delegating tasks to the ghost hunters and having them take care of things while I monitor. Additionally, the chat integration on Twitch and the voice commands are excellent and the Devs have even said they are working to makke them better and more functional. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a ghost hunting experience where you get to be Van Mommy/Daddy. !bob go away
Bought this game after seeing a friend streaming it. This was absolute chaos and so much fun for me and my stream community! They loved being able to control the characters to cause chaos in the game. The dev hung out in our stream and when I tell y'all I am so hyped for the upcoming features! The Pros: - Stream integrations for chat commands - Single player that feels like a multiplayer - The jumpscares are GOOD - Appropriately scary fun - YOU CAN ADOPT CATS!!! The cons: - Obviously it's still early access and so some of the features aren't in yet - Cats are expensive (but worth it!) - No magnet to hang printouts in my office when chat sends me inappropriate faxes - A few bugs here and there but nothing game breaking and the dev was super responsive so I have full confidence they'll be worked on!
Amazing Game!!! Bob and Susan scare me more then the ghost do lmao
Watched a few friends play and definitely had to get it. I didn't play phasmo when it was very popular and I've always wanted a ghost hunting game that was enjoyable solo, well this is that game. You are "stuck" inside the HQ room that has monitors, equipment, boards to view the map layout, you can control 2 NPCs , (bob and Susan) you tell them where to go, what item to grab/ place, they help you gather evidence to figure out what entity you're dealing with, there is ways to get out of the room, but be prepared... The game is early access so it's definitely gonna have some bugs that need to be tweaked and what not but none of them have been game breaking, some features aren't in yet... This game also has twitch integration, so your chat can help you by move the NPCs, making them grab or place items, or they can mess with you by turning the lights off on you or making it harder to gather evidence. The dev I have met is nice and been help in supporting smaller streamers who play this game. DEFINITELY worth the play and I'm excited to see what's yet to come.
Tried this game out on a whim and super happy I did! You get to play "the man in the van" while hunting ghosts Trying to work out what equipment to give and where to send the 2 NPCs gives it a lot of strategy and makes you feel super involved for a single player game Plus Twitch integration is super fun, can easily help or hinder you The ghosts and especially the voice acting are top notch Lots of little details that made me smile Also if you like cats you'll enjoy this one Can't wait to see whats added in future updates
Was interested in this game due to it having Twitch Integration and the concept of controlling AI NPCs to do the ghost hunting tasks. Game did not disappoint. Bob & Susan were integral characters and gave their life for me multiple times. Will be following development to see where this game goes, it has a ton of potential!
Its a very interesting take on the ghost investigation genre with a couple of good scared spread out nicely The ghost art in the notes is beautiful and the music is top tier! 10/10 You can adopt cats for your office
Bump in the Night" is an incredibly unique single-player horror game that combines strategy with psychological tension. You control ghost hunters, sending them into specific areas of a haunted house with chosen equipment, while directing them through cameras and commands to collect evidence. The jumpscares hit hard, and once you get the hang of it, the game becomes even more enjoyable. With its solid graphics and eerie atmosphere, each environment presents its own set of challenges and frights, keeping you on edge. One of the coolest aspects is the interactive feature that allows your viewers to influence the game, adding an extra layer of fun. It’s a game that’s definitely worth the price, and I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10. Can you handle what goes bump in the night?
Are you the type that prefers to stay and watch cameras while ordering others doing a ghost investigation? This game is exactly that. A unique take on the ghost hunting genre and I am for it. Also, Voice commands makes the game extra fun. Instead of manually clicking orders, you can verbally do it. Which is awesome. You play as the director/boss ordering Susan and Bob (employees) on where/how to investigate. All while staying at headquarters watching cameras. This doesn't mean you are safe. The ghost can come visit you at any moment. Either to say hi or kill you. In other games, it's always up to the player to get the evidence. This one is a little difficult to rely on the NPCs, but that's part of the fun. Having to wait and endure what the ghost wants to put you through. Game isn't super scary. It does have its moments but isn't heart attack scary. Controls is ok. I dont have too much problems. Graphics are meh. But I'm there for the experience over the prettiness. Right now, game is pretty bare bones. The price point of 14.99 might be a little too high imo. But if you like ghost hunting games, then you can overlook it. It's still fun. Devs put in some humor in the game as well. Try it out. I think its worth at least that.
TLDR: It’s a scary and funny single-player horror game for anyone who loves taking charge, ghost hunting, and cats. In this game, you're the boss and alternate from being in the field hunting ghosts and chilling in your office. Most of the game, you're trying not to die while managing your two NPC employees as they hunt ghosts (and in my case, hide in a closet because you're a big scared baby.) You get to yell at them to go places and do things (or be boring and click the board), and if they get killed, they're still super pleasant next field trip! Best employees ever; other than Bob being super creepy! LOL. If you’re on Twitch, the chat integration feature is AWESOME. Chat can control the NPCs' actions, and you can decide if their commands override yours or if you’re still calling the shots. I went with ANARCHY, which is basically anything chat orders them to do supersedes what I tell them to do, and it was a blast. I really love that this game is single-player. Most ghost-hunting games I’ve played are multiplayer, and while that can be fun, sometimes I just want to vibe alone and still get that ghost-hunting experience - this is even better, because of your two employees, Bob and Susan; you're never truly alone! Anyway, like I mentioned, when you're not out in the field, you're in your office, doing whatever you want because you're the BOSS. You can pet your cat(s), play video games on your work computer, and, if you have chat integration on, your viewers can waste a TON OF *fake* PAPER by printing you notes. You even get to use your hard-earned ghost-hunting money to adopt MORE CATS. Yes, you heard that right—more cats. I will take ALL THE CATS. This game also does a great job being a little scary but also having a good sense of humor. Highly recommend!
