Bug Fables is a amazing successor to the old Paper Mario games. Even though I was not able to play the paper mario games I watch people play them and I always wanted to play one. But this game really gave me what I was looking for I bought this game 3 years ago and never played it till last year. I'd never expected to in joy it as much as I did and I'd never thought that i would 100% the game. The gameplay is just amazing. The regular fight are fun and aren't to challenging so they finish pretty fast sometime they can be tedious depending on the area and if you are going for the 100%. I think the quest are fun but it probably depends on when you decide to do them if you do the as they are available and when you are around the level to do them to where they are not boring to do if you have already beaten the game and just doing them to get the achievement. The bosses are probably my favroet part of bug fables from the main story bosses to quest bosses and the bounty bosses each fight is new and just overall fun to fight even when you have the hard mode medal on to make them harder to fight.
I beat the main story of Bug Fables earlier this week. Man...where do I begin? For starters, if you're not a fan of the modern Paper Mario games, I suggest playing Bug Fables. It definitely reminded me of the first two Paper Mario games when I first saw gameplay of it. That aside, this is just a fantastic game in general! There are a few overarching points that really grabbed at me while I was playing. 1.) The world itself =============== The setting and worldbuilding are great. The way Bug Fables uses objects that are common or mundane to you or I and twists them into the bugs' perspective is ingenious. For example, a broken toy shovel in a sandbox is a relic hidden in a desert. Leaves, grass, sticks, and pieces of trash make up houses within the first kingdom of the game. The little details like that are great fun! 2.) The characters ============== It's been a while since I've played a game that made me empathetic for the main characters to this degree. I can't go into detail here, because that would spoil the story and some bigger sidequests, but it was SO much fun to see the main characters mature and evolve over the course of the game. 3.) The music =========== I'm gonna be real, I didn't know what to expect with the soundtrack going in. But I really liked it! Each track fit the corresponding environment very well in my opinion, my favorites being in the 3rd and 6th chapters of the game. (Once again, preventing spoilers) All in all, Bug Fables was an incredible game from start to end. I highly recommend it if you want a spin on the Paper Mario style of RPG's, or if you're just looking for a new RPG game in general!
AMAZING GAME! I never got the chance to play Paper Mario so i have no idea how it compares to it, but it was great! Very lovable squad of goobers, the Hard Mode option gives you a reallyyy good challenge without being too much, and the story was very good! Sad to see there's no sequel yet, hoping to see one someday!
Maybe i am biased because i really love entomology, but while i was playing i found myself really immersed in the world and its characters, mainly thanks to a memorable soundtrack and a lot of flavor dialogue that adds a lot of depth inside this beatiful yet simple world. Also, since a long time, i found myself doing sidequests and optional collection beacuse i found it fun and wanted to explore this world and all it had to offer, and that was really a great feeling! If i must find something bad (which didn't ruin the experience for me) maybe it's power balance and economy. I really struggled with money at the start and had way too much at the end; i also felt really underpowered for a lot of the game until i tried a new build and basically first tried everything in hard mode. Overall it was a fantastic experience and i recommend everyone to play it, especially if you like gdr and bugs!
It's f***in' awesome!
A great game. Seriously this game is amazing. Beautiful art, comprehendible yet great mechanics, love the story and the characters. Would love to see a sequel because this is so great.
