Love it includes original Bubble Bobble... the new game doesn't feel similar. But very apreciated to continue the legacy Taito.

This is a very nice reboot/remake of the original Bubble Bobble. Levels have been remade with HD bright vivid beautiful graphics. Fun stages and boss stages, would recommend. Good Job Developers!

Avant toute chose, désactivez Steam Input si vous comptez jouer à la manette et que celle-ci n'est pas reconnue par le jeu. Que dire du jeu en lui-même ? Les développeur ne se sont pas trop cassé la nénette et Bubble Bobble 4 Friends reprend fidèlement les mécanismes d’origine sans vraiment chercher à les enrichir. On sent un manque de finition : les graphismes 3D, assez basiques, restent toutefois suffisamment lisibles et les déplacements des bulles sont plus clairs grâce à l’affichage des courants, un détail appréciable. Cerise sur le gâteau, le mode multijoueur qui permet de jouer jusqu'à 4 et de passer ainsi des moments conviviaux avec ses amis (à condition d'avoir des amis). Pourquoi lui accorder malgré tout un avis favorable ? Parce que TAITO a eu la très bonne idée d’y inclure la version arcade de Bubble Bobble (1986). Sa jouabilité, évidemment plus rudimentaire, conserve un charme indéniable et ce thème musical mythique vous hantera longtemps après la partie. Certes, le level design de la version classique accuse son âge : ennemis coincés dans les parois ou courants à deviner au doigt mouillé poussent parfois à marteler frénétiquement le bouton de tir. Mais cette formule en tableaux demeure l’une des plus emblématiques de l’histoire du jeu vidéo et il est toujours appréciable de la découvrir ou de la redécouvrir. En résumé, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends et son vénérable aîné vous garantissent quelques heures de plaisir, surtout en multijoueur, pour un budget raisonnable lors des soldes. Pour ceux qui recherchent une expérience arcade plateformes un peu plus moderne, le remake de Snow Bros. (avec la version arcade de 1990) constitue une excellente alternative.

> TL;DR: Amazing game, but it's XInput controllers or bust! Where do I even begin? It's my favorite Bubble Bobble game now. I decided to give this a chance while I wait for the Sugar Dungeons Boosted update. If you played Sugar Dungeons, many mechanics will be very familiar to you. The different power sets, the moveset, the bosses, the enemies are just straight up the same! Ok, but what if you haven't played Sugar Dungeons? Well, this is an amazing game, especially with a friend. 50 main levels with the right amount of challenge, and arcade mechanics adapted for modern play astonishingly well! If you want more, 50 "new game +" levels are unlocked right after, with an additional 100 challenge stages in the Arcade of the Future! And if you want something even MORE challenging, the Arcade of Memories has the original Bubble Bobble arcade game. And, even with all of that, do you want even more? Make your own levels, download community made levels from the workshop, the world is your oyster! Sounds like a sweet deal, doesn't it? Well, consider these three cons. For one, this game goes for 40 bucks normally. I do NOT advise you to get it at full price, instead, cop it at a discount. It rarely goes on sale, usually only for the holidays and during the summer, but when it does, it goes for 10-15 bucks which is a LOT more reasonable. Next. no online play. Might not be a huge deal to some, but this doesn't even have remote play! For such a multiplayer focused game, you'd think they'd try to implement the latter at the very least. If you have friends come around often, ignore this part. Finally, take into account the controllers you have. Playing on keyboard is an honest to God death sentence, and the game only has full support for XBOX/XInput and Steam controllers. You might want to turn on Steam Input, but it's extremely hit-or-miss. Using external translation layers DOES the job pretty well, but it all depends on the controller you're using. My friend's PowerA Switch Pro Controller refused to work, while my official Pro Controller worked after almost an hour of tweaking. Thank God I had a spare XInput controller laying around! After all of this, would I say I made a good purchase? 100%, getting it at 10 bucks was a great decision, and despite the initial setup hassle, the gameplay itself was great, and I had a lot of fun with my friend, planning out routes, getting the EXTEND bubbles, trying out the different power ups... Beware of the issues I mentioned, but give it a look if you don't feel threatened by these, and if the setup has you worrying, play it on console! It doesn't go on sale as often there, though. Excuse the long read, folks!
