Brütal Legend is an action-adventure that marries visceral action combat with open-world freedom. Set in a universe somewhere between Lord of the Rings and Spinal Tap, it’s a fresh take on the action/driving genre, which in this case is full of imitation cover bands, demons intent on enslaving humanity and Heavy metal tunes.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Jul 30 → 2.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's clear Brutal Legend was made with love for the Metal genre and its subculture. Because of the obvious love for its inspiration, I found it very hard to hate despite its shortcomings. I'd like to recommend the game infused based on the humor, creative sets, clever jokes and references throughout the story that DoubleFine is known for. But due to its faults, I think potential buyers should think twice before giving it a go. Everything about the story and worldbuilding is fantastic; its campy, over-the-top, satirical Metal-dramatics. Each cutscene plays like a soap-opera with background tracks from Motley Crue. And all the set pieces are memorable and oozing with charm. The world is fairly large and full of activities, but there's hardly any incentive to go off the beaten path. However, I consider this a good thing; the actual gameplay mechanics are the worst part. Objectives are often opaque and unintuitive. Combat is repetitive and lackluster. Difficulty spikes between "I can do it in my sleep" and "there's literally no way to beat this" depending on the level or minute differences in what order you try to finish objectives. Stage Battles, where you act as the commander of an army against enemy AI, are pyhrric slogs which mostly feel unrewarding at best and all-out timewasting at worst. As an older game, there is a fair amount of technical jank. And on the whole, I did not really appreciate Brutal Legend for its gameplay, though I did see the potential if remade correctly. If you're ok with the jank and are willing to put up with poor mechanics for 5-6 hours of a fun and a unique experience, go ahead! There's a lot to enjoy in this story about a time-travelling Roadie in a world of fantasy Metal. However, if the juice doesn't seem worth the squeeze, your probably better getting your Jack Black fix somewhere else.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 9: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Who up Brutalin' they Legend?
metal rules
The greatest game you have never played.
This game COULD have been good. I could have totally enjoyed a game made entirely of metal tropes, but unfortunately Jack Black and the attempt at humor are lame and cringe.
This is my favorite game
