Hold off on this one, game seems incomplete. If you want to see why check out my first game play here. https://youtu.be/mEbdBkcPVfM
Tomorrow I will create a game in which you need to take logs from one place to the other, spend like 1 hour programming, call it early access and put it on the market to make profit. Oh, wait, somebody thought about this idea already.
An easy way to get some money on Steam: 1. Find and download a survival game example for whatever game engine you like. 2. Spend 10 minutes making "very unique" map and basic models. 3. Release this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ as "Early Access" title. 4. Wait for a month, spend 10 minutes to add couple more trees. 5. Make some announcement about "NEW VERY BEST GRAPHICS-SOUND-CONTENT GAME MASSIVE UPDATE EVER!!!11" 6. Wait for three more months, change game name. 7. GOTO #1
So early you can't even do anything. Just a money grab probably, not sure how this got approved to be sold on Steam as it is.
1. Make a map on Unity using a few free assets. 2. Upload it to Steam and call it an "early access game". 3. PROFIT!
Honestly this isn't even a game yet. The whole game feels like it just been pieced together from various parts of models and code created by others in the unity community and nothing has been adjusted. Really it looks like a school project. About the "game" itself. You're told the controls rightaway and what you need to do. You then proceed to find an axe. The axe is easy to find as there is a glowing orb on it and the orb won't disappear after picking up the axe. You can't swing the axe around so you'll feel like you're not pressing the right button for it. You'll crouch while trying every button and you'll see that the axe gets squished. That's when you'll realise how Pre-Pre-Alpha this is. Cutting down trees is simple. You just walk at them and there's a cutting animation. Or you can stand near them and then the axe works. I prefer walking at the tree. Oh, and turn of the sound because it'll make your ears bleed. Then you'll see a pretty neat animation of the tree falling and BAM the tree turn into two logs that sound like plastic chopsticks while rolling on the ground. You then take both logs and carry them to your ship to build a stairway into the ship. It takes two logs to build one step(what the hell man?). All is fine, you think, you'll just keep doing this to see the end. But then you'll see nothing as there's a night-day cycle and you don't have anykind of lightsource. And cutting trees down means losing your chopsticks as you can't find them in the dark. You keep going on for a while and then quit and write a review. I'll check around once in a while to see if there's any updates and maybe I'll even update my review into something more positive. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that this definitely isn't a game worth 15€.
Played on stream. Sucked balls, just like wilderness in the real world when you go out. 1/10 cuz did not get wood or other cool ♥♥♥♥
This is about the worst game I ever played. First, it doesn't start, as the dev seems to have changed folder and file structures. You can tweak that, it's not hard, but this seems to be an ongoing problem which could be fixed easily be the dev if he cared. Then, there's literally NOTHING to do except chopping down trees (but only some specific ones!) and hauling them over to some pre-placed structures you can build. Don't get confused, if the game says "2 wood needed", you haul two wood over but nothing happens and it still says "2 wood needed" - it's not bugged, it just needs ANOTHER 2 wood. How many you need in total? You'll see when you're done. Oh, and there's yet another special feature: you can't build a torch and you can't sleep through the night, so you either chop wood in the dark, seeing nothing at all and hurting your shins on invisible walls that you can't cross to make it back to your build place, or you leave the game be for 10, 15 minutes (don't worry, although it says "survival", you have to fear neither hunger or thirst nor wild animals nor anything else that could make surviving a challenge) and sip a coffee until it's morning again. At this point, there'll be the only good part about this game: the sunrise is quite beautiful to watch. While you're chopping down another tree. Because there's nothing else to do. At that part, I quit the game. Honestly: this "game" is not worth a single buck. Do yourself a favour and get some icecream instead, it'll last longer and be more fun for you.
Title of this review:
The item “Feathers” is a bird's nest with 3 eggs in it.
Brine start in the beginning of the night. I did not find a way to turn the gamma up because there are no settings. The game is dark. ⅓ of my screen is constantly black, while the moon is shining brighter than the sun. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2725670824 You can’t run after a couple of steps, because your energy bar will be empty in seconds. Reloading said bar takes minutes. You don’t know where you are, you can’t see. I’m 5 minutes into the night, I’m suddenly thirsty, yet I can’t drink from the beach, which is one of the very few things you will ever be able to see, everything is still black. But Because you are dying of thirst, you are also able to see a giant flashing red “hurt” overlay. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2725670862 The ocean, a bush, a stone, and the bird's nest were the only things that you were able to see due to buggy light effects. I did not find a way to survive the night, but I think it's better this way. It's abandoned by the "dev" and not worth the smallest value in your currency.
