About
Breathedge 2 is a humorous survival adventure set in space, following an ordinary Man and his perfectly ordinary space problems. It’s a direct sequel to Breathedge, but don’t worry if you never played the first game: everything will be equally confusing to Breathedge veterans and complete newcomers alike.
The Breathedge Corporation unexpectedly started a galaxy-wide war, built an enormous army of Coffinbots, and attacked the largest human settlements. The Man and his faithful companion, an AI living inside his spacesuit, accidentally derailed the Corporation’s plans for a swift takeover and instantly became the number-one target of every hostile Coffinbot out there. Apparently, fate still wasn’t satisfied. Having barely survived, our heroes suddenly find themselves under attack by their own allies.
Who attacked whom? Who is Babe? Why does the Man need a Chicken? Where were we even going? And what are we supposed to do with all this duct tape? Figuring that out is now your problem.
Breathedge 2 is a story-driven adventure where exploring the world is a major part of the experience. Along the way, you’ll get to know the Man and his crew, learn more about life on the distant fringes of inhabited space, meet new characters, and gradually untangle the forces carving up the galaxy between them.
Explore abandoned stations, ruined settlements, shipwrecks, and plenty of places no reasonable person would ever think of entering. Discover other people’s stories, strange devices, useful junk, and completely useless one-of-a-kind treasures. Some discoveries will be funny, others strange or unsettling, and a few may help you understand what is actually going on and what part you have to play in it.
Hunted from every direction, the heroes of Breathedge 2 are forced to survive in some of the harshest conditions on the fringes of inhabited space. There are no 24-hour stores or banana smoothies out here, but there is an ocean of duct tape, tons of wreckage, and the Man’s remarkably capable hands, ready to turn all that garbage into surprisingly useful contraptions.
Learn new blueprints, craft tools and equipment, and upgrade both your gear and your spacesuit. Repair and dismantle machinery, gather resources, find ways into inaccessible places, and venture farther and farther from anything resembling safety. Out in open space, you’ll need to keep an eye on your oxygen, temperature, and various other little details capable of bringing your adventure to a premature end. Occasionally, you’ll also have to fight, run away, and shove aside the bodies of less fortunate astronauts.
Breathedge 2 is currently in Early Access and is still actively being developed. At the start of Early Access, the game includes its first major story chapter, a large area to explore, and its core gameplay systems. The story is not yet complete, parts of the world are still inaccessible, and some systems will continue to grow and evolve throughout development.
During Early Access, we plan to release major updates that continue the story and add new areas, mechanics, characters, items, and other features. At the same time, we may continue refining existing content, balance, UI, performance, and fixing issues as they are discovered.
Player feedback is an important part of this process. We’re incredibly grateful for your support and for all the comments that give us both inspiration and a fresh perspective on the game. Please keep sharing your feedback with us wherever you can. It helps us make Breathedge 2 even better.
Sums Steam only; Epic, Xbox publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

It's early access... with a LONG, LONG pipeline (into 2030), so don't expect a full game. There are some points that I feel like could use some smoothing out or reworking (dialogue). My main gripes: - All dialogue is clunky. The English voice acting for the AI companion Sui is just poor. Strange choices with the accent and speech cadence which makes it not super understandable and not enjoyable to listen to. Pair that with bad attempts at humor and almost overlapping dialogue between characters (it's okay to add in a pause or a breath so that characters aren't talking over each other): it's just not an enjoyable part of the game. - Your equipment upgrades have a "repair" bar, but there's no way to actually repair them. This includes any tool mods that make you process faster and your armor mods that make you resist cold. Imagine my surprise when I got into combat with a police bot and it almost instantly wiped out all of my mods, including ones that I was using for cold resistance. How do I once again line myself with teddy bears to stay warm? Get very lucky opening crates. Where are the crates? No where warm, those are already looted. - Several side quests have a "fetch this item and reattach it" loop where you need to find loose parts on the map and assemble at a fixed location. Some of these are fine, but the lack of markers on the parts themselves make some more difficult. Where's the attendants arm in this giant, 3D sandbox full of visual clutter? Nearby? Hopefully. Large enough, contrasting enough, and close enough to be visible from the assembly location? Nope. - Bars, bars, bars. Bars go down, fill bars up, bars goes down again. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like I'm having to eat and/or drink every two minutes (maybe my new foam armor replacing my teddy bears is partly to blame). Balancing that against oxygen and temperature and it just feels like the sense of exploration is undercut by the survival elements. Making sure you have enough supplies in one thing, but having to stop constantly to fill up just adds tedium. - Right now, I do not see a way to improve oxygen capacity. There's an inventory slot for it, but I haven't unlocked the schematic to make something yet. You can make consumables to extend your trips, but they require oxyworms of which I've gotten two or three in total. Their nests which can supply oxygen away from your base are nice, but are also devoid of worms. Where are the worms?! - I also cannot see a way to improve movement speed as of yet. There's a booster slot, but same deal, no recipe. I'll probably find one and that's fine. But I did get a recipe for a fuel consumable and a fuel tank equipment item. Even without the actual booster equipment, fuel is used for boosting, your in-space "sprint." You move approximately 0.02% faster when boosting without equipment. I feel like it makes more sense to start without a boost ability entirely (since it's unimpactful), then acquire a booster, and then get the fuel upgrades after.
