What a vibe. Incredible game
It's alright. Only get it on sale.
I do recommend the game, however it lacks the depth necessary for the replayability I would prefer. Secrets are sparse, and unlocks are few and far between. Comfortably you could see almost everything this game has to offer in 50 hours. Was it worth the price? Absolutely. Will I pick it back up in the future? Likely. Is it fun? Yes. Am I just a tad disappointed? yes.
Very metal Love the gameplay
There's a fun game in here somewhere but there's endless frustration and annoyance layered on top so every time I do play, I walk away irritated and unsatisfied. The biggest 2 issues to me are: 1) the near total lack of information about most stuff in the game and 2) there are way too many flies! For the first point, a prime example is buying weapons, the only information you get is the price and what it looks like. That's it. As for the second point, flies spawn pretty much everywhere and given the limited firing rate of weapons (since it has to match the beat) they can quickly overwhelm you. I remember both these combining to end a run, where I dropped all my money on this big gun, only for it to a single powerful bolt before needing to reload. It was great against bosses but it's blast radius is miniscule so flies need to be hit directly unless they touch, so a half dozen flies spread out around the room is a nightmare to take on with a single shot gun. And I know randomness is a hallmark of this genre, but they could add some constraints or intelligence to it so the game doesn't go entire floors without anyway to heal. Like maybe add a minimum of 1 key, potion and coin each per floor. Because getting a bunch of awesome rooms to spawn with no way to open them just sucks and isn't fun.
