I got this for free for my birthday, so understand that when I'm giving it a negative review, I mean it and I'm not just annoyed at losing time and money. This game has tremendous potential-- it combines tower defense with map exploration and acquiring locations on the map like Master of Magic or Heroes-- then it does the unforgivable crime of perma-killing me in a boss wave 10 or 20 waves into my first game. Nope.
Fun mechanics. The procedural generation works well. My only complaint is the UI isn't the greatest and not all mechanics are explained well. After playing three rounds I still have no idea what Mana is or how it works. I've seen it referenced a few times but no clue what it does. Definitely worth the price though if you are a fan of TD games. Edit: The dev has since added to the tutorial/UI to better explain Mana. The dev has shown quick response time, listening to players, and passion to their project. That is worth supporting.
Fun so far! I look forward to seeing whatever additions may come down the line. As a new player I do wish there was more tower upgrade variety and the maps had less immovable terrain (maybe make trees removable for a bigger price or give the player some map generation sliders before game start?).
Very unique tower defense that rewards exploration. Balancing gold and HP production seems important.
Nice spin on the Tower Defense formula. Relaxing to play and can get quite challenging. Like the rogue-lite elements and different towers/classes to choose from.
Cool design and graphics on tower upgrades and monsters Great game with challenging levels and approaches to defence placement
It has an interesting mechanics and addictive game play with pleasant music. Definitely requires careful thinking in the placement of towers, types of towers to use, tiles to discover and much more. Much different from the tower defense games we used to playing. Pity in that fullscreen is not supported for the laptop I'm using. That said, this is a wonderful game that I enjoyed playing, Highly replayable and engaging, I would highly recommend to try it out.
The game is a fun little rougelike tower defense. You get random maps each time so the paths are always different and what not. Plenty of stuff to unlock and such too. I'm 17hrs in, and I'm almost done with most of the achievements. So for the price, it is fair and entertaining. A good game to pick up!
Another indie take on the popular Tower Defense (TD) genre. This concoction melds together some well thought-out mechanics, and is backed by rather solid math in terms of balance and procedural generation. I enjoyed the discovery of the designed game pieces, their synergies, and strategies to make use of them (which is typical for a good TD). The foundation makes room for growth in future updates, while already being packed with content in its current state at this price point. However, it is somewhat lacking in Art direction. Assets are individually decent, but feel incoherent as a whole. A face-lift should be considered by the developer to up the game for appeal to a wider audience.
Interesting tower defense mechanics. For tutorials, it would be better if the steps can be completed within the day, especially the power ups.
