this game is short, quiet, and threw me into an emotional journey that lingers long after it ends. The visuals are absolutely stunning, every environment feels both picturesque and hauntingly empty, full of quiet storytelling. it really captures that rare feeling of reflection few games manage to achieve, really recommend this game!
I rate Bottle: Pilgrim Redux 3.5/5. Though quite short, this is a pretty good walking simulator overall. Although fairly cheap by default, if you can get it during a special sale I think it would be definitely worth the price. Walking simulators generally try to be either tragic tear-jerkers or profound philosophical experiences or horror fests (or some combination of these). Be warned that Bottle: Pilgrim Redux is definitely a tear-jerker. If you’re not interested in learning about a flawed character’s personal tragedy, you probably shouldn’t play this game. Good things: + Fantastically beautiful graphics and outdoor scenes featuring great looking plant life. Beyond any other consideration, seeing the beautiful graphics is really what makes playing this game worthwhile. If you can’t run this game with fairly high graphics settings on a large monitor, you probably shouldn’t bother with it at all. + Pretty good voice acting. It’s not a tour de force dramatic performance (and that would’ve been over the top given the game’s context) but it seems perfectly reasonable for someone who has already spent years living unhappily ever after. + Good, realistic sounds throughout. + This game is fairly inexpensive. Mediocre things: +/- Good, responsive controls but they cannot be rebound to custom keys. I had no problems with the preselected control scheme though. It was fairly standard for most first person perspective games except pressing the shift key toggles the ability to run on and off. +/- This is a less mysterious and less a potentially metaphorical game than previous Bottle games have apparently been. The environment is less a metaphor this time and more of a literal location your character is actually supposed to be in though the weather and lighting is probably meant to reflect the character’s shifting moods, at least to some extent. Similarly, the absence of other characters helps illustrate how isolated the character now feels. Beyond that however, the story of Bottle: Pilgrim Redux is merely the telling of a personal tragedy. There simply is not a lot to this game beyond that basic story (other than the fact that this serves to give us an excuse to wander slowly around some beautiful environments). It is good that this version of Bottle specifically relates what its story is all about but perhaps unavoidably it also loses its sense of mystery as it does so. +/- The piano music seems fitting enough but I found it neither particularly moving nor memorable. For example, Fallout: New Vegas has a great deal of far more memorable and more tragic sounding music (pretty much any of New Vegas’s ambient tracks are far better than any of the music used in this game). Bad Things: -The rain looks a little odd, as if it is only raining wherever I happened to be standing. -Short game. I finished the game sooner than I expected even though I had heard this was a short game. My total play time was just under 3 hours only. -No replay value. Once the tragedy of the main character’s story is told to you the mystery is over and there is no great reason to play through a second time (unless you want to see all the pretty environments over again). -No alternate endings and there are no choices to make. If you do something along the lines of trying to kill yourself (by running off of a cliff or something like that) the screen brightens to white and then the game resets you back to a slightly earlier point. Given the game’s tragic plot and subject matter, the act of killing yourself should’ve been treated seriously and should’ve resulted in alternate endings depending on the locations or general area or chapter in which you die. -Playing these angsty, tragic tear-jerker walking simulators too much could drive someone to drink.

I hated the main character in this game, they claimed they were making up for a mistake, but were very self pitying all throughout the story, and showed very little awareness of what they had done wrong throughout, and it came across to me that they blame X rather than their own actions (Keeping vague to avoid spoilers). The areas in the game were beautiful, and it was a good walking simulator! And the achievements were easy to complete, but that was probably one of my favourite parts of the game... Not exactly a bad game, it just really didn't speak to me. @ Dev: To be clear, I thought it was a good piece of art, I just didn't enjoy it. As I said, it's not a bad game, it just didn't speak to me, and I didn't enjoy it. I don't think my review was unfair, I'm sorry if you were upset by it though.
7/10 The game is a walking simulator with beautiful graphics and good music. The story is a bit slow at some points but still lovely.
“Bottle Pilgrim” belongs to the walking simulators genre, telling a sorrowful story about the demon alcohol and family tragedy. As you walk the path across verdant mountain jungle, through caves and alongside the seacoast, you listen to the main protagonist’s narrative (read in pleasant male voice), collect hidden drawings and uncover a secret or two. As it’s become the norm with this franchise, gameplay is strictly linear and episodic, with several intermezzos of past reminiscences where you need to fulfil certain objectives to proceed. As usual graphics look very good, music is nice to listen to, and the game carries a contemplative atmosphere that will draw you in. And as usual, if you’ve liked other walking sims from this developer, be sure to add this one to your collection too.
every frame of this game is so beautiful.. the atmosphere is soft and quiet. I loved walking through the world at my own pace and soaking in the scenery, really recommend!
Emeği geçen herkese teşekkürler , sonunda çok duygulandım .
A very nice walking sim with a great story and great atmossphere. The achievements are rather easy to get and all in one a really nice game. I can highly recommend it.
