Extremely GOATed game fr fr
If you, like me, spent way too many years playing llsif or any other rhythm game and always thought to yourself, "well this is great but what it the girls kissed each other and had swords?" Stop whatever gacha pull you're in the middle of and buy this game instead. I can't even begin to describe how easy and enjoyable it was to pick up this game after having forgotten all the controls and slip right back into "I almost beat it, let me try one more time!" or "But what if I did it faster?" The controls are simple and the way that this allows for so much complexity to be baked into the game is just another reason to adore it. (Apotheosister probably is my favorite fight in the entire game because of how much it shakes things up.) The writing rules, the art is all beautiful, the gameplay is magnetic. I have nothing but praise for BOSSGAME, and highly recommend you check out the DX mod!
Played a good bit of their game and quite enjoyed it’s gameplay. It’s like a weird mix of Punch Out with magic attacks. Game seems to focus on unique enemy fights then fighting one enemy 10 times per chapter like some other games end up doing. Writing is not really my biggest preference but what is there is light and fun for those that like there romance or Yuri media like the dev does. Overall would say this is a fun game, you have to get used to knowing when and trying to block and hit at the same time. You have two characters you use in battles at the same time and enemies will go between targeting each person or both and you have to block with one or both party members and then attack at the same time with the other party member. Bit hard to get used to the multitasking at first but it ends up as a fun system that discourages button mashing after a little bit in the game in a smart manner.
Bit mixed on this one but overall it was entertaining. Gameplay concept is simple enough, you have two immobile characters with their own stamina/HP bar, attacking/guarding takes stamina away, if character gets hit while low on stamina they die/get stunned. The other character can aid downed one, but will have to be a bit careful to not get downed themselves. Game itself consists of stages with one boss fight each. + Nice tunes + Mostly silly story but fun enough + Gameplay stays varied in different fights * Some of the art is inconsistent due to different artists - Certain characters aren't really explored much or at all - Even when disregarding comedic parts, writing feels a bit amateurish to me - Final boss felt like it lacked oomph compared to previous fights You unlock a boss rush after completing the game but I wasn't really compelled to mess about with it. Give it a go on sale if you don't mind a short experience.
The game was fun and quite challenging at times. If you want a boss rush wrapped in a lesbian action-adventure story, you will probably enjoy this game.
This game is Nice.
A very cute game, with adorable characters and a lovely romance at its core, whose story you can finish in an afternoon. It feels very evocative, in some ways, of undertale, but focused on a boss-rush. The gameplay is quite fun once you get the grasp of it, each boss has memorable and interesting patterns. Also, lovely representation of queer characters <3 Just a very solid and heartwarming game, especially for its price, warmly recommanding it !
Banger game honestly
This game went farther than my expectations. I expected a simple boss rush game with fun dialogue (which it is) but I was surprised at the variety of fun stuff done with the mechanics and boss designs. On top of this, the story was pretty damn good and had some surprisingly well done emotional character moments. Game's short but I say its worth your time.
Real fun rhythm? action? game with influences from all over the place. Still unique enough to stand on its own, with incredibly endearing lead characters. Not too difficult (and if it is, you can fiddle with settings in the options to make it more palatable) but still has enough bite to not be a cakewalk. I grew to love the combat over the hours I spent with it, and I'm honestly tempted to go back and try to beat my boss rush times since I definitely played cautiously the first time. Also has one of the more random uses of the william tell overture. caught me off guard the first time. in a good way
