Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

This one is a rough review. I like Borderlands, I like borderlands a LOT. In fact, I like it so much I've bought the handsome collection (1, 2, and pre-sequel) 3 times, borderlands 2 and its dlc twice, the tales games, and this game. I even 100 precented borderlands pre-sequel, and 3 plus dlcs. On the surface, this game had things going on about it that made me rather excited for it when the trailers were coming out. The vault hunters looked cool (after their re-design) and had nice little abilities and lore tid-bits, the villain was NOT another handsome jack clone, expy, or wannabe and there was even... a villain vs villain war going on? How cool! And then it was revealed the game was not only going to be running using Unreal Engine 5 (uh oh) but that it was going to be open world (ah ♥♥♥♥). And that immediately had me worried, because I had just been burned my Monster Hunter Wilds going down the same route, and Metroid Prime, and... alot of games this year actually. Open world has been THE plague of 2026 gaming. But it came out, and the stupid little launch trailer did me in so I forked over 70 USD for the base game. And the game *looks* nice, sort of. The writing is better than base game BL3 (which is... practically an insult with how low that bar was.) and the setting itself is rather interesting. A planet that ALSO had Elpis as a moon that was cloaked by the Timekeeper as a sort of safe haven, until the mayhem caused by it's ugly neighbor Pandora and its' denizens cause the moon to explode... twice and shatter the sky. The time keeper goes nuts and implants people with bolts that control them in any which way the timekeeper wants, and ripping it out causes you to go crazy and become this game's version of a bandit. The two factions don't like eachother, as the Order sees the Rippers as ♥♥♥♥♥ up maniacs, and the Rippers don't like the Order's sterile and boring way of life. This is cool, there is a groundwork for things to be done here... Except it's then revealed that the time keeper can only be accessed by 3 "command bolts", which can only be obtained from his 3 lieutenants... one of which is the leader of the Rippers and a Turncoat. Which means the game works like Far Cry 5 and 6 now. And that entire civil war thing is wasted, now. Hell, any time a ripper force and an order force do fight, they'll stop and kill you if you get too close. So, this whole thing is a bust, but how does the game work now that the most interesting thing in terms of it's premise is a bust? Well, it doesn't. Or at least, not well. The game breaks, all of the time. And the things that DO work, work POORLY and oftentimes just worse than they did in even Borderlands 2, a game that was 13 years old when this game released by the way. The map is confusing to navigate in the menu, because the in game map doesn't do layers. So if an objective is in a cave or ABOVE you, you won't find out until you are close enough for it to be a pain in the ass. And because navigation takes so much longer and is more confusing because the world is now open, you get a guideline. The guideline doesn't work. It can: Disappear early, Phase through terrain (including Mountains, Buildings, the FLOOR, and it can even sneak out of bounds), or even just not let you activate it. For no reason. Sometimes the game just does not let you use the guideline, even if you are not in a location that bans it. Or how about guns! Guns have parts! The guns in this series are actually just a bunch of parts SMASHED together which determines things like stats and manufacturer. Especially important in this game, where you can get guns with parts made by other manufacturers, including ones that aren't properly in the game. So, a Hyperion add-on adds the aim shield to your gun, a Jakobs barrel adds the crit ricochet, so on and so forth. So, in a game where knowing what parts do, how do you check on them? In borderlands 2, you inspect the gun in your inventory. In the pre-sequel, you inspect the gun in your inventory. In borderlands 3, you inspect the gun in your inventory. In borderlands 4? You can't. If the part is not important enough to show up on the info card (the one that tells you general stats and weapons manufacturer when you look at it on the floor or scroll over it in the menu), you do not get to see what a part does. Which is any manufacturer part that isn't a cross-manufacturer part or legendary. So, you just... don't have the same level of info as you do in a game that is now 13 years old and it feels bad. They also rarely mesh with your vault hunter skills in a way that matters, outside of buffing the status ailments or more stats. Vault hunter skills also sometimes just don't work. Okay, so what about the things that you use the guns on, enemies? Those should be fine, right? No. Enemies are very weird in this game. And not fun weird I mean, they just don't seem to function right. Some enemy weakpoints just don't seem to work properly with the hit box either being too big, or too small. They can get stuck on geometry, and, while this isn't a bug, the leveling system for them is very out of order. In one zone they'll be your level and 20 feet to the north they'll suddenly be 10 levels higher than you, and it is instant death. This is a looter game, you cannot cheese this out without a hyper specific build. This is a sacrifice for the open world, as is performance. This game runs terribly. I've seen malware wreak less havoc on people's pcs than this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. It recompiles shaders more often than a chainsmoker going out for a smoke break, it stutters, it lags, and while I don't have the BEST specs on the market, I'm attaching my specs to show that they can be considered "pretty damn good" by most standards. But also the game crashes. A lot. It's better with patches but it sill crashes a lot more than a game costing 70 US dollars for the base game should. And it happens more often with longer play sessions, like there is a memory leak or something. Quests also don't work properly. Flags can sometimes not trigger, dialogue can repeat itself multiple times, dialogue can sometimes just not happen at all, sometimes the game is convinced that you aren't actually at the right spot because it marked the correct spot to be some random spot about 100 meters from where you are supposed to go. I haven't bought any of the dlc, but the free one was a single mission and the others are... about as long, except for the vault hunter dlc. Which comes with a full story...? Which is about 3 hours of content, or so I'm told. Which doesn't seem like it's worth 40 usd. To be fair, I don't think you could convince me 40 usd is a worthwhile price on any dlc unless it's something like Icebourne or Sunbreak where it doubles the size of the game. Which this is not. But I don't know how those are gameplay wise, or story wise because like... they are so prohibitively expensive for what appears to be so little, so those might improve things. C4SH might actually be balanced properly. I don't know. But TL:DR, this game is a mess. It's buggy, and at times even broken. The UI sucks in ways that would be bad for a game released during the ps3 era, let alone in 2026. The story is fine, but has missed potential in exchange for basically being a Far Cry game. The map exploration sucks, because it's either tedious or unrewarding, and enemies and fighting CAN be fun! When they work. I'd wait until all of the dlc is out and they fix the game in order to convince dumbasses like me to buy the dlc and rave about how this game was secretly a misunderstood masterpiece, or at least actually a fun game. Like what happened with Borderlands 3, and to a lesser extent, Tiny Tina's wonderlands. Or get it on deep sale, if you can run it. Test your hardware.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 316.29/day in the week to Sep 15 → 99.29/day in the week after.
Of the 12 markets with a position on both sides, 5 climbed and 3 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 47/day in the week to Sep 11 → 340.86/day in the week after.
One market had a chart position on both sides of this cut. One sale in one country is an anecdote — read it next to the store-wide figures below.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 41.86/day in the week to Jul 31 → 47.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Gearbox Chef so: "Studenten hier macht was, egal was Borderlands 4 drauf klatschen und raus damit".
BL3 was better, more detailed. This game was rushed, lots of Bugs. Not worth it.
The borderlands game that was closest to being genuinely good with no asterisks, but feels like there was a company moron-goblin that would occasionally walk into the dev room and suggest ridiculous ideas. The gameplay is fantastic, possibly the best the franchise has ever been. It expands on every aspect that makes the previous entries fun and doubles down on the parts that are the most enjoyable. The movement is as tight as ever, the skill trees are the most interesting with the most varied mechanics since 2 and the actual vault hunters themselves are all uniquely fun in their own ways making each one a fun time all by themselves. The great gameplay is punctuated with one of the most redundant and repetitive open-world designs AAA has seen. I know a lot of people clown on the Ubisoft style of open-world sandbox, but I'm one of the people who actually tends to enjoy them. They're very good brain-off kinds of games, similar to a lot of the job-sim titles, where you can immerse yourself in a cool aesthetic and fun gameplay and just turn off your brain as you slowly chip away at a huge map with a million small objectives. The issue with Borderlands 4 is that the open world rewards are meaningless, don't reward the player to do them in particular, and don't feel like chipping away at a map quite like a good open-world sandbox checklist can. The issue possibly stems from the fact that the game has a very hot-and-cold relationship with its own combat and level design. I've said before in a review for a different Borderlands game, but the franchise has always had absolutely stellar level design which elevates its gameplay into something much greater than the sum of its parts. BL4 also has this good solid level design, but it also acts like its not an open world. The random encounters all run the limits between pointless arena and overdesigned arena and there's so little consistency because there's no real way the game could develop linearly. In previous titles, each arena gets space to breathe, because it's ultimately a linear game. When you'll explore certain areas is all but guaranteed, as the progress is tied to the main quest, simple as. But BL4, doing the BOTW style of open world where you're given several objectives, then let loose, means that there's no real gradation of the arenas and enemies. You start out fighting Pistol Thugs and 40 hours later, when you're in the second-to-last region, you're fighting Pistol Thug Variant at level 40. I don't feel like commenting on the story much because It's the part that left me the coldest as it commits what is possibly Borderlands' greatest sin as a franchise. A bit of a spoiler warning for this part but: Borderlands 3 had a bad story that could've been good, but was undermined by being written for Lilith. Everything in BL3 happens because Lilith needs it to happen and the story ends on Lilith sacrificing herself, making the player's involvement feel pointless. Why was I needed for Lilith to go and save the borderlands? You feel like a mailboy at the end of the game and it makes your struggle feel like a wasted effort. BL4 starts off on the right foot. It establishes the villain, who is extremely charismatic and fun to listen to (even if his interactions are limited due to the open world nature) and gives a lot more agency to the player characters as well as giving them room for real growth within the title they're introduced in- Something completely fresh for the franchise. And just as the player thinks the story has a direction its headed in, it drops the bomb. Lilith, who was supposed to be dead after 3, turns out to be alive. She's rescued and the story from then on does the exact same thing that made BL3's story bad. Listen, I'm not a Lilith turbo-hater. I thought she was fun in 1 to play as, and I thought she was cute in 2. But by now? I'm deathly sick of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ character. She is clearly someone very high up's favorite doll to parade around the storyline, but I'd like to think that I have some authority to speak on the topic as someone who's been playing these games since the very first one came out. We. Are. Sick. Of. Lilith. Please stop writing her in. I don't have a problem with her being left as a "Legend" of the borderlands. Hell, I can easily imagine a story in which Lilith's IMPACT as a person is felt in the plot and affects events in the story, but for goodness sake, please stop adding this character to the plotline. She's possibly the worst example of a Mary Sue character, where when she shows up, she's the bestest coolest vault hunter to ever live and is a personality black hole that turns every interesting plot point into the "Lilith doing random crap podcast" Ultimately BL4 is a game that's almost good. Its close to being amazing. But is hampered by the devs inability to realize their full vision or potential due to internal problems. The game also has a million optimization problems and ran horribly on release. I have a relatively good setup, and I was still able to play through the game on release even despite the bad optimization but I still had problems with frame drops especially during combat.
Its guns and loot, thats all i need
