performance is awful
I was going to come back to this game after my playtrough at launch, which I enjoyed but meh. While installing I checked the dlc's just for fun, saw the contents.. ok cool, saw the price of the dlc's... It turned me off so much I stopped the download, uninstalled and come here to finally write the review I never did before. I loved this franchise so very much. I'm sad.
Es el mejor gameplay de la saga, historia mejor que el anterior, el apartado artístico es muy bueno, ya arreglaron gran parte delos problemas de rendimiento de su salida, en resumen una muy buena entrega recomendada si eres fan de la saga.
I told you I would get it half off and miss nothing; silly greedy lil 'ceo'. STILL no char creator, classes are sex locked for untalented reasons, story is better then BL3 but BL2 is miles better, just not as pretty. Get it on a deeeep sale, or just pirate it. An indelible thumbs down.
performance was ass and the story was really weird and confusing if you think about how GOOD the other borderlands villains were
I played this game at time of release and had to walk away from it, but now I find the game to be in a much better state. I did not have as many performance issues as most people did fortunately. However, after coming back to the game I have had 0 performance issues at all. No crashes, no stuttering, and good frame rate even with me pushing 3440x1440p resolution. I think this game delivers the absolute best gunplay and combat mechanics we have ever seen. The loot pool is also incredibly diverse and allows for a lot to go for whereas in previous titles I felt like I got mostly all the best guns in a much shorter span of time. This keeps the gameplay feeling fresh as there are always different guns and variations I can go for. The skill trees are incredibly diverse as well allowing even more fine tuning to what build/playstyle you want to go for. I see lots of hate on the story and writing; however, I have no issues with it. I feel like BL3 delivered way worse in these regards. The only issue I have is pacing. There are characters that will return later that we barely got a grasp on and it left them feeling hollow and almost forgettable as so much time has passed since I last remembered how they were established to begin with. I enjoy the personalities of the current vault hunters a lot though and the game doesn't feel like it is trying to force crappy comedy all the time. Lots of serious moments and the jokes are usually short quips that have actually made me laugh since they aren't just exhausting surface level written jokes that are repeatedly thrown in your face as I felt BL3 handled them. My only other gripes are with the open world and the enemies. I don't mind the size of the map. But I do wish there were more engaging moments in certain areas of it. I feel this was massively improved upon since I first played it. However, I still find myself sometimes just aimlessly traveling back and forth to areas without any real engagement in between destinations. Furthermore, I don't feel like there is as big of a variety of enemies this time around. I feel like I am going up against Rippers and the Order 90% of the time with barely anything in between. With all of that being said...is it a perfect game? No. But if you can get this game on sale then I find it to be highly worth it. There is a lot more playtime I can put into this game one one single character over the other games even which keeps me hooked. Especially with the amazing skill trees, gunplay, and wide variety of loot and their variations that I can further use to tune into my build. Again, I truly have no performance issues what so ever after returning to this game. I've put 25 hours into this game the past week and haven't had a single crash or poor performance issue during my entire time playing. Their current roadmap has me excited for what's to come and I feel this game is worth the sale price for how much content you get and worth the refined combat loop and story that it also has to deliver.
Oh Borderlands... Genuinely, I love Borderlands as a franchise. Memorable characters from the first two games in the franchise, with spin-offs and Telltale being one of the reasons Borderlands has been around for so long. But let's cut to the chase shall we? Is Borderlands 4 worth the money? Eh...? Let's start with the story first because that's the shortest bit of reading. The story takes place sometime after Borderlands 3 and it's mess of a story and.... Well that's about it. This story is genuinely awful and I had no particular interest in it besides Lilith looking more like she should have in Borderlands 2, but I digress. Now for performance.... Let's just say our old friend Randy Pitchfork was right about needing to turn on DLSS or FSR. Genuinely, how a game like Borderlands can have no optimization to the point that DLSS, FSR and Intel's Xess NEED to be on to even get playable frame rates on a PC that blows consoles out of the water is truly impressive. Like really, Borderlands isn't a graphically demanding game, so why the hell does it need upscaling to even be playable?! Aside from the optimization, the story isn't worth the $70 USD, and definitely isn't worth your time as there's pretty much nothing to do once you get to max Ultimate Vault Hunter rank. Oh, and those story DLC's they charge you for? Just another kick in the balls.
TheGood gameplay TheBad Enemy moveset looks sometimes very childish TheUgly turn your funny sht down.. claptrap is 30 sec funny.. Recommend? Yes, if you played all previous and want some more. Else, play BL1 and BL2 and maybe even BL3..
