Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Base Game - 9/10 Its really good, much MUCH better than the first game. And a large part of that is due to Handsome Jack. He is so well written and fun to listen to this obnoxious ♥♥♥♥♥ complain about the pettiest of things and doing evil acts with such a neglect. I love when my villains revel in being villainous, that's when they're the most fun. The other addition of great characters is Tiny Tina. She is so much fun to just listen to and hear her ramble about whatever. Everyone else is just who they are, many are serious, many are trying too hard to be comical, its a difficult balance to reach but thankfully we have these two. Gameplay is a step up. There's more going on which is good, there's more places to explore, there's more quests to complete, there's more rewards for levelling up, there's more fun overall. Art style is the same, it doesn't do much for me with how gray the game is. Maybe with higher resolution textures and more colourful areas it'd be more appealing. But the Buzzards, holy crap the Buzzards spam in a select few areas that are required took so much out of the fun. I groaned and loathed when the Buzzards showed up. Its only one enemy type but they infinitely respawn and are a chore to deal with. Base Game + DLCs - 7/10 Captain Scarlett's DLC - 7/10 It's good, more of the same except the story isn't as good and the Cursed Pirate enemy is ridiculous. Torque's Campaign DLC - 5/10 Fine, I've never cared for Torque weapons so this didn't do anything for me. The Zeppelin fight was horrendous tho. Moxxi and Tiny are a great duo I want more of them together. Sir Hammerlock's DLC - 3/10 Its not good, extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moment happened after the Jackenstein fight. I grabbed a bunch of guns to sell, fast travelled to sell them because there isn't a store to sell at for some reason, had to run all the way back through Candlerakk's Crag, found a energy wall that was blocking all the loot, went back to the lodge and finished the quest assuming it would open the wall, ran all the way back to the fight, re-fought him for the loot and the wall is still there and stays there. Just why, why is it like this. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ really. Tiny Tina's DLC - 8/10 Finally some good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ content. Tina is still great and the story gets weirdly real at the end, like genuine emotion. Locations are cool and the vibes are here. Couldn't imagine they fumble a full game of just this. Bloody Harvest DLC - 6/10 Not much here, I like Halloween and its aesthetics. Wattle Gobbler DLC - 5/10 For some reason the bigger chefs were super strong and one-shotting me. Grandma's stories were boring who cares. Mercenary Day DLC - 7/10 Christmas is fun, boss fight had a move that launched me out of the map and I died for it so that's cool. Wedding Day Massacre DLC - 8/10 I love that Moxxi hates Ellie as much as I do and I liked the 5 boss-type enemies you fight, collect their trophies and open the red chest and nothing in the game tells you this is there, a rare moment of letting the player discover things on their own. Son of Crawmerax DLC - 7/10 Love the aesthetic and the boss actually felt fair? A lot of this games bosses seem to forget there's a lack of invincibility frames for any and all attacks so you don't get one shot by the boss and numerous enemies all at once. Fight for Sanctuary DLC - 7/10 Its good for being the DLC to link Borderlands 2 and 3 together. New villain is whatever, not nearly as interesting as Jack. Seeing the Sanctuary in a new way was neat. Now the enemies need some work. Maybe it was the TVHM that was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up but these New Pandorian enemies were constantly killing me with a couple of shots and it would take a few magazines of my weapons to kill one of them, mind you I was one level higher than them. This was a constant problem and source of frustration because it came to the point where I had to treat the game more like CoD than Doom, less jumping and moving, more hiding and peeking.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 10: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
Good in it's day... but that was a long time ago.
Mechanically, Borderlands 2 is an anachronism. Guns sway drunkenly and are wildly inaccurate, loot progression is just wretched and the UI was bad even when it was released. For many people, the writing is the game's saving grace, but it has the same energy as an insufferable university student who constantly quotes Monty Python. The plot is gaming's bog standard treadmill of 'Get the thing, so you can get the next thing... before the bad guy capitalises on all your work, and then you defeat him'. Unless you have some serious nostalgia goggles for the game, it is best left in the past.

The last good Borderlands
Its just a great game overall
I have been a fan of the Borderlands franchise ever since I played the first game in an internet cafe back in the day. I have been intrgued by the endless loop of addicting gunplay and getting better loot in each main quest, side quest or just generally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around the world. The sequel brings it into much better fruition with more loot, interesting characters and peak 2012 pop culture and humor. Honestly, Borderlands peaked here and Handsome Jack and the tons of additional lore in this entry made the Borderlands franchise shine in the mainstream and you would tons of hours for how many years by the vast content in this game and it plays great on PC and on the go of my Steam Deck - which is a godsend from that awful port in the PSVita - and even though I know the story by heart and listened to the immersive soundtrack, I still play this game as a way to listen to my favorite podcasts whenever I would like to destress myself after a long day at work. Ironic, as this game is ADHD-inducing - but that's just me and my coping stuff like me playing Dark Souls 3 to "destress lol" But yeah, this game is bargain whenever it goes on sale and it gives more bang for your buck all these years later. And this is much better than 3 and 4 - although the 3rd entry had quality of life changes and additions to the gameplay which is more boomer / twitcher shooter than this one and it is arguably better gunplay. But the overall Borderlands franchise, the second is my favorite and beloved by the entire fanbase.
Needs a remaster. Great game, though.
