Bookshop Simulator

the game was so horrendously laggy even on the lowest graphic settings, i could see through walls and ceilings, and this problem doesn't happen with similar games like tgc shop simulator or rune factory 5. its a good game BUT i can't recommend it because i was just really frustrated 90% of the time

Bookshop Simulator starts out really promising, but the further you go, the more the game falls apart. NPCs are bugged - they do one task and then just stand there, forcing you to run the entire shop alone. The manager system barely provides any real profit, and the late‑game economy is completely unbalanced. The third store in Japan is absurdly overpriced and practically unreachable without functioning assistants. After around 11 hours most players simply give up, because progression stops and the game no longer makes sense. It seems to me that the game is simply unfinished - great idea, but unfortunately very poor execution.

GREAT GAME!!! Wish the stores and expanding did not cost so much but the game is fun and you can play for hours!

Good game. If the customer AI was a little more complex (some people are looking for a specific title, some people want books in a certain genre, etc.) it would be a great game.

I moved to my last store (England) with my two mythical books, stock from other stores, legendary books etc. When I took everything out of the teleporter, the books were on the ground. I hadn't gotten around to moving them and when I checked to finally move them under the boxes once I had set up the store, they were no longer there. I tried reloading, they're still missing. They're just gone now.... Not in any of my old stores, not back in the teleporter. I quit and reloaded... still nothing. I had 3x achievements left and I feel like quitting because I spent $250,000 on those 2 mythical books that would have helped me to easily get the last achievements. I also have most of my legendaries missing (the couple of ones that were on a personal shelf stayed). It's as if the books have fallen under the map of England. There's no way of getting them back. To think I genuinely enjoyed this game up until that point. It's so disappointing that you can lose books that easily, it took me hours and so much money to get all those books.

This game is surprisingly fun. I've always wanted to run a bookstore, and this scratches that itch.

I've only got a bit of play time in it so far, and I got it just as it was going 1.0 myself. However I enjoy it, the premise is nice and relaxing. Controls are simple, tutorial is well done. I haven't tried the co-op but it seems ripe for it. I enjoy the fun takes on classic novels and the different store locations and customizations. All in all a quality simulator genre title that might be deeper than you expect.
