Wow, it's not too often that I come across an early access title that impresses me this much but this game absolutely blows me away with how much potential it has. I have played all the BMX games on Steam right now, which is really just BMX Streets, Pipe By BMX Streets, and BMX The Game. This is by far the best of the bunch IMO, BMX Streets might be a more complete and fully featured game right now but trust me when I say this one feels a lot more fun to play. Pipe is basically just a tech demo and BMX The Game is just no good and hasn't gone anywhere. This on the other hand feels like it could genuinely become the Session or Skate of BMX games, it's just got that good of a feel to it. They seemed to get the feel down just right with this one, you can move fast enough, the physics are a lot of fun to play around with, the controls seem to work well, and even the animations are rather impressive. There's only 3 levels right now, 2 of them are complete, one is still being worked on, and there's apparently going to be more on the way. They're a lot of fun though and manage to feel more life-like than the other games due to some decent work with the sound effects and locations. It's not perfect, but when I see how recent of a project this is and take into consideration how this is apparently the work of just one person as well as the low price they're asking for it I am really blown away by what it is. This game deserves a lot more attention and I hope the dev keeps working away at it and maybe even gets some more help along the way to expand upon it. A few criticisms I got are simply the lack of music, lack of character selection or BMX customization, and a minor issue with the menu and resolution on the Steam Deck where I have to select options after booting the game up to get it to display properly. Controls could probably use a bit more work and the grinds need a bit of friction. Like I said though this is early access, relatively new, and I wouldn't be surprised if these issues get fixed with time as more content gets added. It's worth noting how it runs well on Steam Deck with medium settings, and I would be surprised if the performance doesn't improve over time. So if you have an interest in a BMX game that feels sorta like games like Skate, Session, and Skater XL, definitely give this one a go. At $15 it's just a great deal and I'm sure the dev would appreciate any support they could get right now. I am definitely going to keep this game installed on my Steam Deck for some BMX riding whenever I'm in the mood and I am really looking forward to seeing how it continues to develop over time.
This game caught me by suprise I bought it just out of curiosity with 80+ hours on bmx streets and even after the new 2.0 update on that game I think this game is looking more promising and its on a better engine . BMX bastards runs on the Unreal 5 engine unlike the unity engine like streets which can be limiting . Unique animations and overall good control scheme i hope theres gonna be alot more . Please take your time this and also add some difficulty and timings like streets , session , skater xl of some sort but also have a arcade physics hybrid like u got rn idk could be something special thank you . Now my favorite BMX Game keep it up take as long as you need
Love the game but it needs more updates
The game is empty, and that's not about to change. The game was released in early access on November 8, since when only one update has been released (8 days after launch) and since then no more updates. 6 months without an update for early access is not a good sign, and at this rate the game won't come out of early access for another 10 years. The developer has been promising us a new physics engine for several months, but as a gamer, the physics weren't the problem, it was the lack of content. I don't recommend this game.
Real good game so far. I would love to change my controls around though, thats what stops me from constantly playing it! i love that it goes in depth on the bike, was really surprised with how good the game is so far, was worth it and cant wait to see what comes
w game
this bmx game is really fun to play i can spend hours on this game and for a early aces bmx game it feels smooth
Have to refund. I was hoping for controls similar to Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX. I get they're going for a physics sim approach, but it's not something I find chill to play.
