Bluey's Quest For The Gold Pen

absolute peak. you'll get ~8 hours of gameplay casually if you're only fulfilling the requirements for each level, and much more i'd imagine for 100%. (i first played this on mobile, which is why playtime doesn't match up) the game makes great use of its mechanics, with the puzzles and general level design. the game has an art style reminiscent of episodes like Escape and Dragon from the show. there are multiple different mechanics to use throughout each level, where it introduces each one to player. worth much more than ""THE"" videogame. it holds up very well for all ages. i'd love to see a kaizo mod for this someday, it'd be interesting to see.

If you're nervous about picking this game up because the other Bluey Videogame was so short and overpriced, I can assure you this won't disappoint. This game is much longer, and has a lot of fun gameplay mechanics. Different open world levels to explore which all feel fun and unique from each other. Overall, if you enjoy Bluey, and don't mind a collectathon kinda game, this is great! Only downside is that it is not multiplayer, so playing with kids might seem less fun than the first Bluey game. Highly recommend, I haven't finished the game yet, but what I have played I have enjoyed a ton!

It's great to see this game that Bluey creator Joe Brumm collaborated on exclusive game-specific content make its way to Steam! If you're a fan of the show, this is absolutely a pickup and truly a worthy video game carrying the Bluey name! I was a fan of the original release on mobile, and the port to Steam plays absolutely smooth like butter! This game contains an endearing story set in a drawn land a la the Bluey episodes Escape and Dragon (and the minisode Butlers), interspersed with cutscenes of the Heeler family in full cartoon fashion. The antics and adventures that Bluey and her sister Bingo get into feel very authentic to the show's spirit, and the puzzles that players encounter offer just enough of a challenge to be both accessible to younger players while remaining satisfying for adult players. As a completionist-style player, I enjoyed this game as a collect-athon, with some of the things you need to grab tucked away in sneaky places that you really have to keep your eyes peeled for! As a speedrunner, there's actually a lot of neat speedrun tech to discover and practice if you want to find ways to shortcut progress and access in the levels! As a video game and cartoon lover in general, I'm very happy with grabbing the game as it brought me laughs and smiles along the way while being a really satisfying game to play!

A very beautiful, incredibly designed and well-created game revolving around the familiar drawing-themed episodes of Bluey (such as "Dragon" and "Escape") that could be considered a whole ‘nother episode within itself! Bluey's Quest For The Gold Pen is a major improvement to its predecessor, giving its player a whole different experience with a birds-eye-ish view and many, many Chilli-drawn lands to explore. Although Bluey: The Videogame had its own nice show-accurate feel to it, it was just far too short and buggy to be enjoyed by someone that is inexperienced with video games (say, a child - its target audience). This game however, is far more child-friendly in terms of controller use and learnability, and can easily be finished in about 2-3 hours if you're not a completionist, otherwise in about double that time or perhaps even longer if you just like to explore and enjoy the drawing theme! The best part is, with Joe Brumm (the creator of Bluey) being a huge part of this game, that means there was no room for error; he was in control of the story, he was in control of how it played - and as expected, it turned out near enough perfect. There were a few slightly annoying bugs and glitches, like getting stuck in objects [spoiler](especially on the bike)[/spoiler] and some textures flickering from being improperly embedded into another object, but nothing game-breaking as you can easily [spoiler]teleport from one place to another with its fast travel feature.[/spoiler] All in all, a fantastic game for the Bluey lover no matter the age, a great way to get your child into games and learning how to use a controller etc, giving them familiar tactics that you would in any other similar video game like aiming, shooting etc, whilst having that wonderful ‘Joe Brumm’ quality storytelling, and the typical humour you would expect from the show. Did I mention there was a fun ending and the typical sweet lesson-like ending you’d expect from an actual episode? I guess you’ll have to play it to find out!

If you like Bluey, you'll like this. Its art is remiscent of the episode "The Dragon", and my 6 yo and I both love playing it. Its challenging but doable for both of us. Also, it works perfectly on the Steam Deck as far as we can tell.

The game has some great charm if you are a fan of the Bluey show, its very simple but that is what they were going for. I do like the final boss challenge and kinda wished there were some type of boss challenge at each level after the 1st one. The game is great otherwise.

Cute and cosy collection game probably best enjoyed in bursts of 30 to 60 min. Had a few glitches here and there, but nothing game breaking. Probably needed around 3 hours or so to complete ( rest of the time is just to collect everything else left to collect )

Great game, finished it and really enjoyed it more than the original bluey game. only gripe I have with the game is the last achievement for the game is bugged and will not unlock. I am actually surprised no one has mentioned this as of yet. Hopefully the devs fix this soon!
