Absolutely addictive. Take notes, pay attention, and don't be afraid to look things up if you're about to lose your mind!
boo pince.
The premise is simple, but as you dive deeper and deeper into the game, the more complex the puzzles and rooms become. I've really enjoyed playing this game. It feels impossible at times, but I love the challenge of it. Perfect for gamers who like table top gaming. It reminds me of board games like Betrayal and Mad Ludwig's Castle. Very Cool! Highly Recommend!
I’m giving this one a thumbs up because the first 20 hours were really compelling and fun to engage with. Getting to finally unlock room #46 feels like an accomplishment (there’s a Steam achievement unlocking for getting there) after decoding all those clues and solving the puzzles. The music is very good and setting the ambiance whenever you discover something or enter certain areas. The art style is really something, everything is hand drawn (or looks like it is), it is a very beautiful looking game, they really pulled it off with that choice in style. The gameplay is alright, on a keyboard and mouse you use the WASD and mouse to move and look around, and then it’s pretty much just “Right click”, “Left click” and “E”. After unlocking the room 46 and getting the credits, the game wants you to keep looking around the house for more clues and more hidden rooms to get achievements, unlocking a physical trophy for your character in the game, and putting them in a trophy display. Once you get to that part, I feel they cranked up the difficulty of the enigmas and puzzles a few notches. And of course, the most frustrating part this game; the RNG. Sometimes you feel you just put the last 45 minutes you played to the garbage just because you couldn’t draw a certain room or item. It is a VERY annoying design and it got me to lose interest in continuing. It still deserves its thumbs up for the main quest, but for me after that, I got tireg engaging with the RNG mechanics and the hard puzzles. From what I’ve seen, you could easily get over 50 hours out this game with the post room 46 content.
RNG in puzzle game, no thank you
Very nice game, great atmosphere and clever puzzles
I have never played a game like Blue Prince. Multi-layered, beautiful design visually and in the way the puzzle unfolds. Would highly recommend playing as a group or with another person as well as solo -- they are different but equally engaging!
