Reviews
The House of the Dead, Time Crisis, Vampire Night, Virtua Cop.

I kinda like it. It's not the best rail shooter I've ever seen but I had fun with it for a bit tonight. It wears its influences on its sleeves, with a lot of nods to House of the Dead in particular. It's simple to play and does what I expected out of it. Really, it feels better to play than the House of the Dead Remake from a few years back and I haven't heard anything good about the recent HotD2 Remake, so I'm sure this is better than that too. I really appreciated the monotone voice acting in this one. It nailed the insane voice acting of those old light gun games. If the dev didn't intend for that to be a reference, well, just roll with it and don't tell anyone that! It fits! It's great on the Steam Deck. The track pad works really well to control the reticle and the Deck lends itself to quick pick-up-and-play sessions. I do have to agree with the other review that the reload animation does feel a little long, especially on the assault rifle/machine gun/whatever (I don't know guns, so sue me), but that may just be something someone can adjust to as they play. I also got a little frustrated with not being able to skip the opening cutscene or at least all of the buttons I pressed didn't seem to do anything. The game definitely shows its from a small amateur (not an insult) developer with a lot of rough edges but I had fun and I'll play some more of it. Glad I took a chance on it.
This is an educational game, in that the Dev learned a lot by making it.
Bit of mixed feelings with this one Didn't want to give thumbs down, because there is some potential in this. But at it's current state I wouldn't actually recommend it tho. (There should be rating option for thumbs middle!) + Looks kinda cool and fun + There is always room for new rail shooter games - Ugly colorful score points and texts (Reload!!!) in ugly font and ugly colorful outlines in enemy projectiles. (There is no option to turn these off, at least for now) - Gun reloading times are bit too long But as I said before, there is some potential in this to evolve P.S. Main character looks like a disturbing young version of James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2 ;)
works great with retroshooter light guns and decently challenging, nice to see a new rail shooter!!!
Помойные игры Стима.
Before I say anything else, I think this game has a lot of heart. Nice job dev and keep it up. I'll play your next one. It does a lot of things that a decent rail shooter should do and if you're here reading this review that's probably what you want to know. Is it good? No. Could I recommend this to literally anyone that isn't desperate to play a new rail shooter? Also no. But again, you're only here if you ARE that person. What it does well: - Dev understands rail shooters, the game does move in 'scenes'. Camera moves, locks, enemies pile in, you shoot them, camera moves, locks, enemies. You get it. It's not like Darkside Chronicles where the camera is whipping you around like crazy. - The game has a reload animation so you can't cheese reloads. So more thought went into making a modern rail shooter here than House remake. - The game has bosses and they're totally fine. There's even a cute little QTE mechanic where you have to shoot directions in sequence to dodge. This isn't overused. Reminds me of turning the wheel in Deadstorm Pirates. - An actually decent amount of enemy variety. You don't just kill those eye dudes the entire game. I was pleasantly surprised to see new enemy types on each stage - The game has plug and play lightgun support that works fine. You can even disable the reticle. WOw Rough bits: - I suspect the dev tuned the game's difficulty timing around playing with a mouse. On a mouse the game feels very easy, but on a lightgun, the game feels nearly impossible at points. There's a boss that asks you to make a skill shot over and over again or you die instantly. You'd be forgiven for putting the gun down and just using the mouse on this part. The game has liberal checkpoints which feels like the dev throwing up their hands and saying "is this part too hard? Too easy? I don't know anymore. Have a checkpoint." - There appears to be one sub-weapon and it's not very useful. Reloading it takes forever and by the last stage, I just stopped finding ammo for it. You're almost better not even using it - There are two endings but determining it is literally the last input you make, so there's really only one route through the game (which is again, standard rail shooter length)
Highly recommend this rail shooter that is compatible with modern lightguns sunch as my sinden. An orginal storyline that relives the arcade and console retro railshooters of the past. impressive high end graphics with great background music and effects keep me playing to finish the game and obtain the achievements. This is the future for lightguns in your living room. The dev is quick to respond to any issues and updates for better integration. Game has a lot of video, sound, controls, difficulty options and save slots. Happy to see a no crosshair option and french language added. Hopefully recoil outputs will be added very soon. Keep this genre alive by making more games like this - reload !
This game is a mixed bag. Is it the the most polished of games? No, Is it the best rail shooter / light gun game? No. But what it is, is an attempt at a modern rail shooter that in my experience works well with light gun hardware (Reapers) and is actually reasonably challenging and fun to play, even in its current state. At just over £5 I think any criticism I have and a lot of what I have seen from others is baked into the price point. I hope the developer takes onboard the constructive criticisms of the game and continues to improve it. If you have light gun hardware this is worth a go. Pros - Very reasonable price for what you get - Works well with the light gun hardware I have (reapers) - reasonably challenging and fun to play Cons -General 'jank' that will hopefully improve in time Wants - It would be nice to see a bit more graphical coherency with things like the score text - Some more (graphiocal / sound) feedback on hits as the hit boxes and enemy responses can make things feel a bit 'soft' and 'floaty' (don't know how else to describe it).
