Reviews
I understand my playtime is too low to give a fair review for all the games systems, but with all the issues I experienced within 15 minutes, there is no way this game is worth $40. Firstly, the loading screen is a stretched low-resolution image, which just looks terrible, then the game immediately starts without any kind of introduction or cutscene. There's some simple quests to do and then when you finally talk to another NPC, you find out there's no voice acting whatsoever and tons of misspellings. Then I was asked to race a horse and when I tried, I fell off the world each time and had to restart from the beginning. I can put up with no voice acting, bugs, and bad spelling in a $15 game maybe, but for $40 my money is better spent on a project that actually has some care put into it. UPDATED 5/29/24: I saw the dev updated the game after my previous feedback, which I was happy to see. I played the game more and was able to progress even farther, but I discovered way more bugs than before. Not only that, they reduced the price by $10. The game was $40 on launch and they reduced the price without saying anything. Needless to say, I refunded for that reason alone. I should also mention that I posted a long list of bugs and suggestions on the Discussions page for this game and they deleted it. I also saw they must have deleted their Discord or something because the link they have to it is broken. I am not trying to harass these developers, but it's unacceptable to delete user feedback. One day, I may consider buying it again if I see there have been a lot more updates, but right now, it just looks like a scam.
There's a lot of potential here, with a nice starting point already playable in early access. There's some rough edges, but that's always going to be expected in early access. The developer has already been open to taking feedback and has implemented changes when given said feedback, so if you are okay with buying in to an in-development project (as you should be if you are even considering early access titles), Blood of the Elves seems like it has a great future ahead of it. Combat feels really nice, as does traversing around the world. There's really not that many games that cash in on the whole vampire thing with stuff like turning into a bat and so on - so its cool to see that here. The opening segment sets the tone for a high fantasy experience up in a floating city, and then before long you are down on the ground fighting all manner of baddies from orcs to giant spiders. Really interested to watch this one progress and see where it goes with time!
This game has huge potential! l I don’t see the issues brought up by the first reviewer I guess the devs fixed it, which is awesome to see that the devs actually listen to the community. I’ve played this game for few hours now and I’m hooked the only thing I would suggest is a tutorial while fighting the first boss in the elven arena. Also with the crocodiles that do the death roll on players near swamp sometimes I don’t even see them coming unless I look under the water maybe have a top silhouette above so they are more noticeable. The missions are great and can’t wait for co-op & to see what more is added (even though I’m still not done with main story or buying the house in the village yet haha). I’m glad to be part of helping you guys. The owner has been nothing but a great chill person on the discord. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a dope single player game with shadow of Mordor vibes :)
A game with potential. The idea is good and some of the gameplay is relatively novel. There are some bugs and imperfections, but it seems the developers are working hard to fix and update them.
Не оптимизировано. 1660 super и Ryzen 7 2700X на слабых не тянет :(
I don't post often and ask for even fewer refunds but this game is far from playable as the controls are non-responsive 60% of the time. The the hostile NPC's just stand there 80% of the time. I do think the game has potential but the developers really need to dial development stage to Alpha for now.
After a catastrophic start, the game has now improved, I’m a fan of this universe! The game is now fun, it’s similar to a Soulsborne, but is nowhere near as difficult, and it’s visually really good with my powerful computer.
The game itself is nothing unique, but its done so well that it feels like it is. I was having fun with the game right away, but really when i hit chapter 2 i was enjoying it quite a bit! Something about the lore, the story telling, the relatively deep RPG elements, the combat - it just feels so damn fun to play. I'm half way through the game at the time of writing this review, but look forward to future updates. Highly recommend!
This is a very fun game, i really enjoy the combat, different forms of travel, and overall the freedom you have to do what you want, this is still in early access and already is super fun to play, with the dev team updating all the time, i can't wait to see whats in-store for this game and where it will go, the dev team are awesome people and very friendly and open to suggestions, would recommend it to anyone whos thinking about buying it.
Although this game is still in early stages of development I'm having a ton of fun with what currently works. The scenery of this game is top tier, but you'll need a decent PC to run it in it's current optimized stage. I personally was able to reach out to the main developer regarding a issue with the mouse sensitivity setting being too high at most values. The dev, "Naxion" responded to me the same day asking for some more details on the issue, then proceeded to fix the bug the same day. It's a good feeling when the dev is able to communicate directly with the players on issues and even better to know that they're competent enough to fix them.
