Game is short, but for a single-person dev, it is more than I expected. The cut-scene visuals and audio are excellent. Gameplay itself is very engaging, although some of the systems need tweaking. Combat, especially melee, feels very sluggish and janky. Exploration is fun and bear encounters can be terrifying, albeit a bit buggy. This game seems like a great base to build on for the dev. I would love to see some more fleshing out of the in-game loot/upgrade and combat systems. I think the addition of Bear lore items/pickups would go a long way as well. Overall I really enjoyed this game, definitely worth the pickup , especially to support a solo dev!
Blood Bear is a lot of fun to play, and you can see the amount of real effort put into the graphics and sound design. If this is their first game, then I cannot wait to see what Rabid Rodent Games has in store for the future. It's not a cash grab horror game, there was a lot of thought and effort put into it, and it shows. I received the game from the dev, but I would buy it again. Keep up the amazing work!
Really impressed by this game, and even more impressed when I found out it was made by just one person. The moon, the trees, the different lighting around the map all come together to create a visually stunning game. I also really enjoy the map mechanics. As someone who has no sense of direction and easily finds themselves lost, the map could not possibly do a better job of showing you where you are in comparison to different locations in the game. The visuals alone are reason enough to like this game, but paired with the unique story, awesome music, and suspenseful gameplay, this is a game that I will recommend to anyone. Plus, the end gave me full blown goose bumps. 10/10!
Very good game! I highly recommend it. - Great story, graphics, game features, and the atmosphere makes the game extra scary!!!
This is a great Game, Especially for a First time Solo Dev that Did everything himself. He made all the music, the game, And Published it Solo. That Deserves a Huge Kudos. I am the one who Left the Note Tagged on X about this game I live streamed. I will be doing a dedicated stream tonight with BLOOD BEAR. I will see how far I can go working my way through the harder levels. I like how this game always keeps you on your toes. I don't want to Spoil it for anyone. But if you Like Horror, Survival Games you will like this one. Plus it is only $6.99 to boot. I can not wait to see what this Developer/Publisher puts out next. And I can not wait to Showcase it on my Rumble Channel.
I have really liked the game, atmosphere and the story! Great job! But I have some suggestions/recommendations for you to implement these small things into your game, these will make a huge difference, trust me! ------------------------------------ The list: -A slider for the camera's FOV, most players like to play on high FOV -A better slider for the camera sensitivity, because I can not slide it down, only up... -Vsync, this is very important, makes the game much smoother, also better for the GPU(graphics card) -When I go close to something with my flashlight on, the thing become really bright -I would like to customize the controlls how I like them, so I can rebind the keys -The chairs in one of the building were buggy if I stood on them, I could barely move -A more understandable inventory, inventory system, bigger captions and fonts -UI Scaling -Screen Resolution -Maybe a hotbar, and better sswitcing between items(flashlight, weapon), hotkeys too. ------------------------------------ -ADDITIONAL MODE: A hunting mode, no story, only where you can only hunt and collect resources, make the bear chase you smetimes, wondering around, flee, a HP bar, some cult members runs up to you, you can hold more guns at the same time. So a HUNTING FOCUSED MODE. I would be really happy. And a saving function for it. You can save with some currency. ------------------------------------ I hope I helped you with these, looking forward for the updates! I will keep playing with the game. Looking forward to your reply!
Absolutely amazing game! The sound design, graphics, atmosphere, and tension are phenomenal, my only gripe is I wish the game was longer.
Super impressive for a first time creation the ambiance is insane! also you might poop yourself
Great game! Map is much bigger than I imaged, cool places to explore, and figured out that you're safe from attack in buildings. Creepy music like a movie gives a hint when trouble is coming. Remember to eat stuff when exploring - luckily there's stuff scattered around the map to find n use. Got one totem so far, challenging, like the different goals to win...recommend this one!
