About
Blockboy and The Wizard is a short linear game about a regular stickman with a square head and a bleak life, who becomes the apprentice of a wizard with no beard and his own brand of soda. The soda thing isn't really important at all, but it's very cool.
There is a lot of text, if you are illiterate you won't like it. Well, if you are illiterate you can't read this... Actually, the artwork is insanely gorgeous and can be enjoyed without reading, but the game won't last as long.

Become a wizard, maybe!
Talk to people and click things! Stuff happens when you click things!
There are rats? There are rats!
No wizard story game is complete without a villain, a MAGICAL villain who is EVIL
The rats can talk, they are relevant to the story
Well not all of the rats can talk, some of them can't talk at all

Meet different characters, both interesting and not, while following aforementioned story
The Wizard is a wizard
The villain is a wizard as well, in a way, but I won't tell you her name, 'tis a secret
Some of the characters don't have any dialogue, they are basically decorations
Most do talk though

Let's get the elephant out of the room first: the graphics aren't exactly what you'd call pretty. They look like someone drew them in MS Paint during their lunch break. And yet, somehow, that's part of the charm. This is a game that tries very hard not to take itself seriously and spectacularly succeeds at it. Once you make peace with the visuals, what awaits you is a short, funny story filled with witty situations, amusing characters, and hilarious dialogue. You play as a regular stickman with a square head called Blockboy, who's going through a full-blown existential crisis, feeling utterly purposeless in life. Salvation arrives in the form of an invitation to become the apprentice of a wizard, and you're given three trials to prove your worth. Things take a turn midway when a villain enters the picture, nudging the story in a direction you probably won't see coming from the start. The gameplay is exactly what you'd expect from an RPG Maker title: walking around, interacting with objects, chatting with characters, and being rewarded with witty dialogue at every turn. There are 16 achievements to collect. Roughly half are story-related and basically unmissable, while the other half require a bit more initiative and borderline naughty behavior, which is entirely on-brand (think: flipping a light switch on and off so many times that you actually break it). Blockboy and The Wizard is a one-hour experience, but for $3, it delivers a good laugh. 10/10 game. I played the alpha and beta versions too. Masterpiece writing and storytelling. You can become a Rat/Mouse. Very funny!
An extremely fun and short game. I was sent this game through through my steam curator and I am very glad I was or else I unfortunately wouldn't have found this gem. It's about an hourish long but will have you laughing the entire time.
The story is dumb in the best way: Blockboy meets a wizard, nonsense ensues. The intro cutscene caught me off guard with the legs and the dialogue was hilarious. If you want polished graphics, look elsewhere. This is a short, goofy RPG Maker comedy that knows it looks janky and weaponises it for charm. 10/10 I highly recommend giving this game a go if you want a laugh!
Hilarious tongue-in-cheek comedy puzzle game that doesn't overstay its welcome
I received a free copy of this and decided to try it out because who doesn't enjoy a good comedy game? I really enjoyed this one, and since it only takes around an hour to beat, it's a perfect little game to play in one go. The writing is well done, the jokes are actually funny, and the ending was abrupt and absurd; exactly right for this game. This was totally worth trying out, and even though I got a free copy to stream and review, I think it's 100% worth the price. You won't be disappointed.
Very fun and charming little game, nice "homemade" graphics and soundtrack, and not too long to play through. Nice way to spend an evening :) Lots of fun little jokes and things to find by just clicking on everything you come across.
I played this on the steam deck and really enjoyed it! The jokes are funny and the art is oddly charming. The game froze a couple times on the deck, but was easily fixed by limiting my fps to 60. 100% recommended!
This game was really fun, and im not really a gamer but this i liked very much. Many funny interactions and creative stuff. Would recommend 100% !!!!
Funny little block man, even funnier hat guy. Would get turned into a mouse for him again. 10/10.
