A really fun game! Really gets your mind going as it's such a quick game. The price is good for what it is and the graphics are really nice, a really cool aesthetic. I'd recomend giving it a go.
Tetris was one of my favorite games as a kid, and Block Wave is kind of like the 3D version of that. The game is difficult, the controls take a few tries to pick up, but once you have it down, it's a good kind of challenging. Definitely a novel take on the Tetrimino style game since it brings the 3rd dimention into play.
The devs were kind enough to provide me with a key to BLOCK WAVE for review. I've put about 2 hours in already and I can't wait to spend more time in this universe. The first hour was a bit of a struggle as I learned the controls. It takes some training to get your brain use to the 3D space and which way you are flipping your blocks. Once you get a hang of it, WOW. My high score so far is 800 but my friend got 1,000. Now I can't stop until I beat him. Great graphics. Awesome music. Very compelling game play once you get a hang of it. My suggestion to the devs - Add some sort of tutorial. I think you can bring the learning time down from 1 hour to 20 minutes with a good tutorial. Can't wait to keep playing. Hopefully they add a Steam leaderboard so we can compete globally. Worth the purchase price for sure!
I don't recommend this game until they fix the controls. You rotate the blocks with the trackpad, and it doesn't work well. They need to update it so you can rotate the blocks with the movement of your controllers, like in Kubz VR. If they do, I'll change my review to positive.
I really want to like this. I love the 'T' game and this takes it to the 3D level because you rotate and twist the shapes in all 3 planes... but the controls aren't quite right in my mind, the beauty of T was it was so simple but the controls at the moment make BlockWave hard work. An option to twist and turn the shapes with hand movements rather than button presses and swipes could I feel improve this no end. The dev gave me a key to test so I really hope it will be improved. I REALLY want to like this I bought a gameboy just to play T back in the early 90's. It's a good price if the controls get sorted and I'll change my recommendation.
It's a VR puzzle game similar to Tetris, in this case you must fill up an entire XY plane with blocks to remove them. The control works well enough, but you have to use your thumbsticks to turn the blocks, and you will wish that you could use your hands! ( Also, using Oculus Rift, the in game hands don't face the way your real hands do. ) There's not that much variety here, ( there's only one 80s music tune, that speeds up as you play! ) but you can have fun with it. Hopefully they will add some updates!
I enjoyed the game. My wife and I both love old school Tetris. This is that but in 3d. The controls take a little getting used to, but there is a tutorial to teach the controls. I would say it is definatley harder than it looks. My fist try I want able to clear any lines. On my second try I was able to clear 3. I would agree with a few other reviewers that I think a "grabbing and twisting" method for the rotating blocks would be better than the D-pad method, but that may come with time. For 5 bucks its definatley a buy if this is your genera of game.
A 3D tetris type experience that gives for interesting gameplay. Super fun!
创意还行,但是,非常难控制,非常非常难控制。各种抓不住,各种最后一刻瞬移。本来是想给妈妈玩点轻松的vr,结果我自己尝试玩了好几局,都是0分结束。
using oculus touch and the game is clearly not designed for them. The controls for "grabbing" the block was non-responsive at times.
