So first off this game is a challenge! Expecting anything less would be stupid. While it may be challenging it still quite fun, its got a pokemon-esque combat system and some cool builds you can make with the blessings. I really enjoyed the character design and the art! If your up for a bit of a grind and a challenge its definitely worth the 99 cents. Pro tip, you decide to get the game make sure you equip your first blessing right away!
Interesting idea, but feels really disjointed. I loved the border, but the 3D guy with 2D enemies and NPCs was really off-putting. It also feels really difficult with no real way to get forward easily without costly grinding and the Health Potions don't seem to heal enough.
As someone who has seen this game evolve from its 'RPG combat' prototype form to that game that it is now, I can confirm it has since come a long way. It's become its own game by now, with all kinds of neat features and gimmicks. It's a nice homeage to classic JRPG combat within a more western style roguelike RPG. You start out with next to nothing in an unkown realm, and you'll have to fight your way to the exit. You'll have to find blessings and fight monsters to grow in power and up your stats in order to survive the quickly growing power of the enemies. Every area is guarded by some form of boss monster which you'll have to get through, but to get to him you'll have to fight your way through monsters and mini bosses. For those confident in their platforming skills there's also hidden areas where loot and powerups can be found through jumping puzzles. However, die once, inside or outside of combat, and you'll have to start over. The difficulty really ramps up quickly throughout the areas, as such I haven't been able to 'complete' the game as of yet. And not for lack of trying either, as I've easily played over a hundred runs already. However even with all of those runs I still enjoy playing it, trying to beat my hiscore. All in all it's a very worthwhile game to pick up in my opinion, especially for its low price. And even though there's still some rough edges scattered about, there is still a lot to come, and over time most of those rough edges will be smoothed out. If you're interested in following the development progress, or just want to check the hiscores or chat with some other players, there's an official BONM Discord server you can join. Hope to see you there! :))
As the only one playing this game i can highly recommend this game :D
not worth it!
