Was expecting something more Neon White-like but it's a little too puzzle platformer for me.

[h1]Blessed Burden is a speedrunner-only parkour game with not much substance beyond that.[/h1] I give it a Mixed review, but there's no button for that. Since this is a small indie dev, I'll give thumbs up, because I like the effort and I can tell there's care put in here. [h2]Pros[/h2] [list] [*]Story is pretty cool [*]Few moments like the [spoiler]snake[/spoiler] are SUPER cool. Felt very immersed at that moment. [*]Multiple QoL touches like multiple keybinds, native Linux build, sensible defaults, and glimmers/sounds on relics are super appreciated!! [/list] [h2]Cons[/h2] [list] [*]Detail and atmosphere are overall lacking; I found a few aspects compelling or neat but a lot of others extremely questionable. At one moment I saw hundreds of human bones just pasted on a concrete wall. It was startlingly out of place and amateur. [*]The death system in general is useless? I don't quite understand the point of the system at all; the game doesn't benefit from it. I would've much preferred the platforming to be more challenging and demanding with frequent checkpoints while removing the death system. It felt annoying to have to do an entire level over because I died (which only happened on the final level) [*]Camera is placed at about your stomach on the character model. It feels very weird to do tight crouchjumps as a result; it doesn't feel like a Normal height. [*]It's far too easy to slide when you mean to just do a crouchjump, resulting in a death [*]The final level is much harder than all the others, which is a shame that the difficulty spikes so rapidly instead of slowly ramping up over the course of the game. [*]Collapsing platforms do not regenerate over time, so if you jump on one, then jump back to a safe platform, you cannot progress despite passing the skill check. [*]Invisible death barriers when I tried to sequence break one time. [*]One long level is awkwardly split up into two levels. It breaks up what otherwise would've been a nice, long level. [*]Objects that should have collision sometimes just don't. [/list] Honestly? Don't buy this game for exploration. Buy Lorn's Lure instead. But if you are a person who likes to play speedrunning-type games, this might be for you.

дуже, дуже крутий паркур і офігєнний дизайн артефактів! дуже шкода що гра невелика, але дуже сподобалася. дякую!

Чудовий паркур, цікавий сюжет, приємний візуал, однак кінцівка дещо розчаровує.
