I can't really recommend this, even as a free demo-scale experience. The cyberpunk environment is great, but you'll have to find necessary puzzle items in extremely shadowy and cluttered environments. The most interactive and eye-catching things in the area with the last puzzle have nothing to do with said puzzle so you will waste time with a red herring non-puzzle. There is no menu, no save, and the intro is unskippable. On the other hand, there is talent visible. The ingredients for something satisfying are here. It's just not there yet. With a bit more playtesting and a few more rooms and puzzles, I can see this becoming something worth a few bucks.
I found several place where I could leap off the edge of the city...that was the most fun I had playing this game. Vague puzzles. No direction. No pause, save, menu, or settings of any kind. It's a pretty environment and I got a kick out of seeing APPLE 2e Computers and 5 1/4 inch floppy drives...none of which I ever see in Cyberpunk stuff.... Just not impressed. Maybe I'll come back and leap off the edge of the city some more when I feel like ending it all, again. For now, I think this game is about as much of an interesting novelty as those APPLE 2e computers and those old floppy drives. Pros: -Works on Linux -You can jump off the edge of the city in numerous places (the most fun time in the game) -Graphics Cons: -everything not listed above -load screen -ending -puzzles -instruction/guidance -Interface -lack of options -lack of customization -no pause/save -story (what is a story?) There is none -Music score I give BLADE WALKER ONE computer chip out of TEN Uninstalling and reclaiming hard drive space
Blade Runner walked so that Blade Walker could run.
This game isn’t great, but it’s free and has some very nice level design, rife with cyberpunk charm. Quite honestly, I don’t think I would’ve known it was any more than a semi-interactive environment without reading the reviews. After realizing that it’s a puzzle game, you’ll find that the puzzles are fairly well put-together, although they gradually get more abstruse as the game goes on. Each level also has some kind of Christmas-related element, which I really hope is just part of a Christmas update and not a permanent addition to the game as these elements feel rushed and are quite poorly implemented. The ending felt very out of place. Definitely could use some work.
No menu or save and too glitchy always have to restart from the beginning because of glitch mouse cursor showing up and low FPS 6-12 in cybercity. Poorly closed cybercity. Would have been good without the glitch and with a menu and optimization but its not.
This was pretty bad. I like escape room puzzles but this made zero sense. I got the 1st lock open and inside were two items, not sure what they were. Could only put it back in the drawer or on the scale. Tried all the combinations. It's pretty boring honestly.
