About
Step into the world of BLACKWOOD, a gritty third-person action thriller that blends smooth, responsive combat with cinematic storytelling.
By day, you are a seemingly ordinary store owner, managing your small DVD shop in an authentic recreation of New York, 2012. When night falls, you descend into the city’s underworld as a contract killer, caught between survival, morality, and a past that refuses to stay buried.
Anton's story takes place over the course of three Acts. Each Act is a complete part of the overall story, with new missions added in between the major acts.
Current Act Roadmap:
Act 1: September 16, 2026
Act 2: March 2027
Act 3: September 2027
When you purchase BLACKWOOD, you are purchasing the full game. All future acts will be provided as free updates to existing owners. If you buy BLACKWOOD at launch, you will not need to purchase Act 2 or Act 3 separately.
Act One Coming September 16, 2026.

Gunplay is fast, stylish, and unforgiving. Keep the Action relentless with fluid movement options like dives, rolls, and slides. Every encounter feels cinematic yet responsive, giving you the freedom to create your own moments of chaos.
BLACKWOOD’s signature mechanic: countless contextual takedowns. From one-on-one hand-to-hand executions to using the environment around you, every fight is an opportunity to end your enemies with precision and style. Grounded, weighty, and satisfying to master.
Your store is more than just a front. It's where you live, decorate, and roleplay a “normal” existence. Buy and sell DVDs, change outfits, interact with your apartment, and explore RPG elements that make your dual identity feel tangible. The contrast between day and night defines the world and the choices you make.
BLACKWOOD introduces a cast of flawed, human characters navigating a violent city full of secrets. Every ad, tattoo, and poster tells a story. Every mission pulls you deeper into a web of conspiracies and consequences.
Take control of your DVD shop and decide how hands-on you want to be. Restock shelves, organize inventory, set prices, and jump in at the counter to keep profits high. Let it run on autopilot, and you will get by. Manage it smartly, and you can watch it turn into a powerful source of income

Bought The Supporter Edition, For 1 Fking Hour I Tried To Understand The Game And Convince Myself To Not Refund It. Then I Remembered Games Like Firewatch, Still Wakes The Deep All These Games Made By Small Studios Yet We Still Talk About These. So I Refunded.
Only was able to play the first few minutes but already loving it. I've seen some people saying its getting low fps but I've had a steady 144! The gun play in very good and the graphics have a bit older feel but it's not a bad thing. So far 8/10. I think its worth the try.
i honestly think this is a great game, it runs great and i love how it plays, now obviously it has flaws such as lag and other things but take all that away and you got a so far great game with loads of potential.
I think they should have released this game as early access. This is definitely NOT done. I did like it. However, here are my thoughts: The day takes way too long. Managing the shop is pretty boring. If you buy DVDs, they won't arrive until the next day, so plan accordingly. I think we are all here for the John Wick likeness, so managing a store is kind of...meh? Like, why? I mean, you can leave the store and go to the basement, buy guns, attachments, etc and mod your weapons to get ready for the night time, buy ammo, etc. Browse the internet and shop for new outfits, i guess. The driving sucks. I did like how it reminded me of Max Payne, The Matrix, John Wick, even the art style and graphics i don't have an issue with. I did enjoy the reloading animations, and finisher moves. I wish we'd have a save file so we could leave whenever; you're pretty much forced to play out the whole day then do contract at night time, then go to sleep before you can move on with your real life. I also wish there was something else we could do that'd leave the game more open-ended. This is extremely linear. I am so disappointed in how short this was. Now we have to wait until next year for Act 2 which will probably last just as long. If it wasn't so "cheap", i would have skipped 100%
genuinely not fun to play or look at. what a bummer
