It's a good game, top notch graphics for an indie studio. The camera had some problems but the new update has fixed most of them! So far so good.
Game's not bad. It's just that bad things simply outweight good things. + Okay-ish graphics. Simple game to turn of the brain and just shoot/hit some enemies. 90% of achievements can be completed without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with guides. Also, the difficulty doesn't affect achievements so you can safely play on easy. - A little bit pricey for it's content. Should be around 15-20$. Reticle works very badly with camera meaning that you always shoot slightly off the place you're aiming. Very inconvenient. Absolutely retarded AI that just blindly runs at you, sometimes even ranged enemies come close to you. So, in order for the game to be at least somewhat difficult their damage is ridiculous, especially melee enemies that can kill you in few hits. Also, many enemies stun-lock you. Melee feels weird, when you start your combo, you get locked into the direction of your first attack and continue attacking at same direction, so if enemy moves side way you can't just turn mid-combo (sometimes you can, but in completely random direction) and you'll continue attacking empty air. Also, some enemies feel like they ignore your melee attacks and attack you while you're attacking them, staggering you. 1 execution animation per enemy which becomes a problem at the end of the game when you basically fight only hybrids and marines and have to execute them because it's faster (they have a lot of health) and it gives more health/energy orbs. Also there are mechs that can be killed ONLY with executions. Last 30-60 minutes are horribly tedious. You run around, fighting dozens of enemies each 10-20 seconds. You don't get any more abilities, no more new enemies, just series of arenas with enemies that have tons of HP. Story... Well, it exists. And that's the only thing I can say about it. Also the main villain was so obvious that I immediately got who he is the moment he opened his mouth. Backtracking. Especially at the end of the game where you have to run around the labs looking for your father, then go 1 km. back to fight the villain (all enemies that you've killed magically respawn), kill him and the go BACK TO YOUR FATHER with all enemies respawn again. So. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Fun. Right?

A great game worth getting. it's from the WarTech Fighter Devs. I believe it's in the same universe. always got my eye out for a wartech unit stomping in. fun and worth the price.
A good game to turn your brain off and shoot stuff.
Blackwind is nothing complicated, it achieves its simple goals fairly well: for the most part. There are aspects that lack fine tuning, some jank, but overall a solid project. Difficult to add specific detail but would play more.
Not great, not terrible. I got up to the first boss about 3-4 levels in an unlocked a handful of abilities. Picked it up on release because giant mech suits are awesome. But this game is trying to be DOOM without being DOOM. It feels like the devs pulled a lot of inspiration from the newer DOOMs. A mix of platforming, keyfinding, a few somewhat hidden secrets, and their take on glory kills. That is, executing enemies for health special ability boosts. But they failed to take what made that awesome. DOOM got away with it because it's first person so you can't see what other enemies are doing. In Blackwind, it just looks weird, because all the enemies stand still while you rip the arm off of the 4th enemy you see. There's also no punch to them. In DOOM you're getting a rock sting, a facefull of gore, and visceral feel. Blackwind especially fails on the sound design, because nothing feels impactful. Everything feels like wet noodles hitting one another. When I flip over the enemy crabs and stomp on them, the screen should shake and you should feel the boom. But it's nothing. The actual gameplay is fine, no more repetitive than any other hack and slash. I don't *hate* the protaganist, but I feel he handles ripping and tearing aliens and seeing 100 dead soldiers without a hint of trauma. They really could've looked at a game like Iji to watch someones descent into trauma, but they opted for the saturday morning cartoon style, and it doesn't fit with all the blood and gore.
