Bitter Harvest

An interesting bite-sized experience that's a subversion of the typical farming game tropes.

I have been looking forward to this game for ages now. It finally came out and on day one I put cyanide in animal feed to mess with the farmer. 10/10 While it does seem a bit empty, the premise is a great change of pace and I can't wait to see what more chaos I can do! The only thing I've found issue with, is the fishing timing. It is very very tight but maybe I just suck. 😅 Anyways, simple game but great change of pace from normal farming sims. According to the Dev, story line is roughly 8 to 10 hours. With the price, that's a dollar per hour of play time. Worth it.

Pretty fun game, real life time goes by quickly when playing because you get so in to the game.

It might be a short game, but I really loved the story and choices you could make. It is a really cosy game. Very enjoyable.

This game is great, you can be petty to other villagers and help them cover up their crimes in exchange for money. Stardew Valley Lite with Sass... 10/10, short and snarky.

The idea of starting as the town’s garbage collector instead of the usual “chosen farmer” instantly hooked me. The mix of cozy farming vibes, dark humor, and small-town drama feels really fresh. The weather and atmosphere make the world feel alive, and I kept playing just to see what weird secret or interaction would happen next. Definitely one of the more unique farming sims I’ve played lately. I would recommend this game.

I wasn't expecting much when I started playing, but this game quickly grew on me. The farming gameplay is simple and relaxing, while the story adds a fun reason to keep going. Bitter Harvest gave unique twist story at the beginning but using simple farming gameplay which is good, and giving cozy vibes even for taking the trash in the town. All the choices in this game makes more interesting for the story too. I really enjoy this game!

Bitter Harvest completely won me over. It takes the classic, relaxing loop of a cozy farming and fishing game and hooks you with a narrative where your choices actually impact the outcome. The pixel art is incredibly charming, the town feels alive, and the rival character, Chadwick, is absolutely hilarious and steals every scene he's in. It doesn’t try to be an overwhelming, massive simulator; instead, it focuses on delivering a tight, highly enjoyable, and stress-free experience. If you’re looking for a bite-sized indie title with great personality and a story that gives your daily chores real purpose, this is a must-play.
