This game has so much potential, it was exactly what I was looking for a cute cozy cafe that doesn't look like every other AI generated simulator, however the controls are annoying and can't be changed, figuring out how to make some of the drinks can be frustrating when some of the instructions are not very accurate, not to mention making a single drink such as a vanilla latte can take as long as it takes for a customer to leave, the coffee grinder is single use for the espresso machine so you are constantly grinding coffee beans, which would not be an issue if you actually had time since the days are extremely short and I mean VERY short which you also can't change. I also don't like the fact I can't choose when to open the store, the moment you open the door the store is open giving you no time to get more supplies or decorations, there are customers waiting while doing so and at the end of the very short day all the customers leave, this is very annoying when you have already started making the order. I would not recommend this game in it's current state, if you want cozy and relaxing this isn't it right now, it leaves you feeling frustrated. The game looks great and has the right idea but unless they start doing updates I would not choose this one, really sad because I love the concept and style of this game :( To find out they abandoned this game to work on another game is very disheartening, this game could have been very successful.
I really tried to like this game but i just couldn't. I'ts really cute, but the controls are ridiculous. I also noticed that the pictures you can buy to decorate the shop are AI generated, and I know a lot of people don't think that AI generated images are a real issue but THEY ARE!! This is also supposed to be a cozy game but for most of it I was just stressed and annoyed because the controls are weird, you constantly need to restock, and when the day ends everyone will leave even if they have already ordered. (That last one is really only annoying if you have already started making their order but still.)
Okay so I really like this game, but the DAYS ARE WAY TO SHORT, it makes me stressed when a customer asks for an espresso and I have to take a full minute to get it ready and by then the day is over, make an option where I can end the day when I want to, the controls were actually nice for me, this game has the ability to be a cozy game but right now im super stressed.
Honestly, I'm disappointed by this game. It was cute, and fun for a short while. Since it was cheap, I wouldn't have refunded it even though I had only played for an hour because it was a game I could see myself coming back to at some point for another hour every now and then. Until I looked at the reviews. This game 100% uses generative AI images in the decoration shop's paintings. I saw a review pointing it out so I went back into the game to see for myself, and I'm certain the images are gen AI. It just feels so unnecessary too, and I'm sure there are plenty of free images that could've been used instead if you can't afford artists. I know this isn't an issue for everyone, and to each their own, but the worst part for me is the fact that it isn't disclosed on the steam page. Had I have known from the start, I wouldn't have bought the game as I don't personally believe that people should be allowed to profit off of AI generated images, as it is stealing from real artists. Which is why it feels like such shame that it's used in this for a handful of unnecessary pictures to hang on the walls. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have refunded. I've seen other games with a label saying they used AI content, so why doesn't this one? I feel like there are some games that don't disclose the use of gen AI in their games because they know a lot of people wouldn't buy the game if they knew. Not saying that's definitely the case here, but I do think it's an overarching theme in games lately. About the actual game itself, I don't really have many complaints, but I also don't really have any praises either. It's just fine. I enjoyed the hour I had played but not enough to sink many more hours into it. You make money really slowly, which would normally be annoying, but every time you unlock the next thing in the game, it just gives it to you, which honestly is also kind of annoying. I think it would definitely feel like there was more of a pay off for the player if you earn money a little bit faster, but have to pay for the new machines yourself. Like when you unlock espresso, you get the espresso machine, a dishwasher, and like twelve or fourteen mugs immediately. The only thing you have to buy in game is the ingredients themselves (and the AI generated paintings for your walls). It just feels a little underwhelming to never really buy the next item or upgrade anything because it's just handed to you. Other than that, the floor gets insanely dirty very quickly. Instead of getting dirty based on customers, the floor gets a random bit of dirt every X amount of time. This includes after all the customers have left, and the amount of time for a new bit of dirt to pop up must be short. I would clean the floor at the end of the day, go to the shop across the road, only be there for about thirty seconds, and when I came back to my shop, there was already two or three pieces of dirt on the floor. While no one was even in there. Thankfully though, customers don't care about it. They don't complain or it doesn't put them off coming in, which frankly, I'm glad about, because I didn't really feel like I had time to clean on top of every thing else, especially in the last couple of days with every option unlocked. The game play is fine, but not interesting enough to keep going. Like I said, every new machine is just given to you, and you unlock the next thing every day. So by the time you reach, about, day 7/8, you've already unlocked everything. There's no more motivation to continue from the game itself. I think it says a lot that people are complaining about how short the days are but at the same time, there's an achievement for playing for ten days that well less than 10% of players have unlocked. So the days are too short, but still not many people are sticking around for ten days (which would only take about an hour and a half when accounting for going to the shop between days). There's just no reason to keep going because the game just hands you everything so you don't have to work for anything.
Very simple and enjoyable game! Got all achievements from following the tutorial and enjoyed every minute of it!
make coffee great again
The main menu design is great. It has a lively structure and looks creative and beautiful. It has smooth graphics. The logic of throwing away the finished coffee packages is very nice. The animations are very cute. The city can be expanded a little more, this is not a need for the game, but it can be an alternative for people who are bored and want to walk around a bit. Going to the supermarket, buying coffee and placing them on the shelves is a very nice idea. There is a day cycle in the game, it gets dark and the day ends. It also stands out as a nice detail. The wind animations of the bush and tree leaves increase the liveliness of the city. It was logical to buy decoration from a different store for the interior.
