About
Birds Watching is a short psychological horror about bird watching.
An endless global fire destroyed the world, and you are now alone, the last human being.
You survive on the top of a mountain, the only place still untouched by the flames, and your only occupation is watching with your binoculars the wild birds escaped up there with you.
It is a peaceful, isolated, desperate life.
Until you are not alone anymore, and the only ones who can save you are the birds; but they are picky. Satisfy them, or lose everything. Be honest. Be ruthless. Be careful.

this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird yet so beautiful
This kills me because this is a game I should love to death. Amazing vibes, weird birds, bizarre story but... The bugs and crashes killed the experience. One time I couldn't leave looking through the tower viewer, or at least my perspective did while I heard my character walking around in the distance. I had to quit, and upon reloading some progress was saved (gates were open, birds were reported in my guide) but the story points got reset and I couldn't talk to the birds anymore. When I eventually regained that ability, because birds were still catalogged before the bug I couldn't rescan them to talk to them. Then at another point the game just straight up crashed. I wasn't even touching the keyboard at the time. When I reloaded the same thing happened: it remembered my progress but all the story points reset to the beginning, now with even *less* birds available to talk to. I just quit after that. If you've got the patience to start from scratch after every bug and crash then go for it. It's too much of a gamble for me. If the devs do fix the bugs then this is worth it.

What a weird game. I love it. Went in pretty blind and I think that made it better. It's like messed up crude horror with a few jumpscares and it's great. More reading than I thought. I like all the different endings and choices.
Birds Watching is fascinating. I didn`t expect much from it, but now it`s one of my favourite games. The surrealism is a cherry on top of a very interesting and unique story. Completing the game only takes about 40 minutes, but it leaves you craving to play again. The environment`s colours, bird and bird people designs, everything looks so nice and creates an unsettling yet comforting athmosphere. I highly recommend this game if you like surrealism, stories about humans causing the end of the world... and birds. 11 out of 10
