Beyond the Stars VR

[h1]Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers[/h1] [i]Please note: You will need a full roomscale-setup to do parts of this game[/i] Finished the game in about 6 minutes. It ends suddenly, mysteriously on a black screen where you're confused (is it really over?). It's a good intro to a game, but it should be labeled as a demo. This clearly isn't a "game" (and says as much in the description) but the smoke effect demonstrated just before the story explanation is completely insane. Hyper-realistic interactive smoke is not something I thought would be possible in VR inside of five years, let alone in a free program of this scope.

Alright yall ready for this i'm about to write the entire game So you start off in this classroom all alone by yourself except this big backpack sitting on a desk. You touch it and it turns into a magic carpet which opens a portal. there is no locomotion or anything yet so you have to walk forward yourself to go through it. After you fall a ways you get a magic stick that is glued to your hand and you have to touch tips of your stick with the magic carpets stick. The Carpet then gets really excited and has you follow him a ways. You then see these two walls that talk when you touch them. The walls tell you a story of how 5 people had magical things its hard to tell if they are refering to elements or magical items. Then the wall explains how this one guy wanted all the magics for himself. after that you go to another wall and it tells you he was quickly defeated and you have to go and restore the magical thingys of the world. You then get teleported to a hill top where you touch 5 stones with your wand tip. Then you are asked to choose which one of the "elements/artifact thingies that don't relate to the element at all" you wish to use on your adventure. After picking one regardless of what you choose you are told: Alright time to start your adventure and restore the world The carpet gets really excited as it flys through the air and fireworks go off and the screen slowly fades to black as your adventure begins... JUST KIDDING after the fade to black you are back in the classroom repeating the same exact story from up above. No adventure no puzzles just listening to a story on how you need to save the world from a evil guy or something but you don't actually get to do anything. Why even make this a game at all? after a little bit of digging, I found this. Maybe it's a free game on steam because your data is the real product. " Stole this from the discussions tab on this game but proves my point. Protect your information fellas don't download and get this game like I did and stay safe guys.

I had high hopes for this game, but the second I started it up a really loud sound played, obscuring all the other sounds. I restarted it and it got quiet enough where I could hear things. I continued the game like normal until I got to the statues where you pick an item. After picking one, I just got sent back to the beginning of the game. There were no puzzles, just an annoying sound and storyline that leads to nothing. Until this game gets fixed, and gets more story, don't play it.

This game looks amazing! But this should be marked as a [b]Prologue[/b] or a [b]Demo[/b]. I'll leave this review here for other people to see. This is a really short experience (without any puzzles) where you are listening to a tale. The game ends when [spoiler]you choose the power you want to start your journey[/spoiler].

Beyond the Stars VR is a free VR experience that has a few puzzles. Ii worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, sounded ok, played ok. It is a teaser for a teaching program for Fiji Islander children ; Beyond The Stars. Needs Intructions on how to use. Do they really think every Fiji Islander household has a Gaming computer and VR HMD and internet access? Try it for a quick VR experience or watch a gameplay video intead.
