About
A brutal FPS. One girl. One gun. One recording.
They broke into her life.
They filmed her. They destroyed her.
Now she's back - and she's filming them.
Better Than Dead is a brutal first-person shooter set in the depths of photorealistic Hong Kong.
You play as a survivor who’s done running. She’s got a pistol, a bodycam, and a kill list.
Every level is a raid. And every raid has a rhythm.
You'll die. You'll learn. You'll come back faster - until every run feels like the revenge scene it was meant to be.
Bodycam revenge shooter – Film every step. Every shot. Every death. No mercy.
Learn, adapt, dominate - Each room has a rhythm. Die, read the layout, and come back harder. Every run is faster than the last.
Photorealistic Hong Kong – Fight your way through iconic action-movie settings: neon-lit restaurants, seedy nightclubs, back alleys, rooftop dens.
Raw, aggressive gunplay - Slide into bullet time. Move fast. Hit harder.
Cinematic action style – Inspired by classic Hong Kong action films from the ’80s and ’90s.

Great concept, controls and precision aren't good enough to enjoy. engagements feel like RNG, you just have to keep trying until shots land.
Hotline Hong Kong
Good game, feels almost real. Can't wait for more content on this game. Thank you, developer team.

그냥 바디캠 스킨만 입힌 총겜 조준하면 안맞고 오히려 그냥 난사하는게 더 잘맞음 총 조준을 개같이 만듬
I really like this game. Feels like a 3D version of Hotline Miami. Can't wait to see where the developer(s) take it!
Optimization is terrible
This game is awesome. It is really inmersive and make you feel you are taking revenge. It feels so realistic. congratulations. I definitively recomend this game
Some things don't kill you. They leave you with a choice. Bodycam, pixelation, Hong Kong. Revenge. Suddenly, I feel like I'm playing Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days again. It was revolutionary in its time, and so is Better Than Dead. I'm not sure if this would be enough to pave the way for more though. So far, we've only seen one multiplayer title that isn't doing particularly well, one singleplayer game that popularized the concept but hasn't been released yet, and at this point I think even it's own developer doesn't know when it's going to be, and finally this one, which, unfortunately, doesn't leave a completely positive impression. This game gives you the illusion of playing an inexperienced protagonist who has just picked up a gun, until it doesn't. It's incredibly immersive for the first few minutes, but that feeling quickly fades once you realize how trivial sliding is and that your ammo is unlimited. This wasn't a game I was particularly expecting it to be, but I still enjoyed what it had to offer, despite its short length... I just wish it had deeper mechanics. You have the usual shooting, aiming, reloading, sprinting, and crouching, with the slightly less common additions of bullet time and sliding (which for some reason, bundled together) and that's it. No, literally, that's the entire game. It takes around 2–3 hours to finish, and if you're aiming for the Black Star rank; and yeah this game has a ranking system, expect another 2–3 hours because of how easy it is to obtain. Just make sure you kill every enemy, since those left suffering on the ground don't count. It doesn't really matter how fast you finish a mission, how accurate you are, or how much damage you avoid. The only thing that matters is killing every enemy before the time limit expires. It's not a good implementation I think, because beating a level in 20 seconds with missing 2 kills gives you the worst rank while beating it in a minute with all kills gives you the best. I hope the "To Hell" game mode adds the replayability this game desperately needs but I'd still recommend it at its current price. Also, I can't ignore the fact that it feels only slightly more substantial than a tech demo. While the visuals imply a story about taking revenge on your r*pists and s*x traffickers, the game never really explores that premise in any other means but visual storytelling. And that also isn't really developed, you simply pull out a gun and shoot waves of nearly identical enemies until the game ends. It also needs more time in the oven. Audio bugs are frequent, and the menus feel rough and unpolished. Blood splatters are nice until you see them in the dark. I believe bodycam fps is the next big leap for fps games and this game proves it. Once you play Better Than Dead, the usual fps games feels uninspired and boring. Amazing graphics and presentation. Awesome gun sounds and visual style. Unfortunately, it just gives you the taste of it because of it's short nature and simplicity, which in this case, left me for hanging for more. Also thank you my love, for gifting this game to me :3
Does a lot of things really well but also need to be refined quite a bit. Currently its got too many problems like enemies seeing you and shooting you through walls, your shots being blocked by invisible walls. Guy hiding behind door clipping through door but killing me through the door. a lot of frustrating problems. I'll leave my review positive but in its current state i've gotta say its a long ways from feeling finished. On one hand if it gets properly updated its gonna be amazing. On the other hand its just not that enjoyable for me to play in its current state. The overall atmosphere is awesome. Level/mission design and UI leaves room for improvement. Refunded for now I'll come back if it gets finished.
The games at its best when your rapidly firing into a few guys, sparks and debris flying around, with the music blasting in the background, but it really needs polish. Sometime when the enemies are hit and go down they start screaming and if you don’t shoot them again they will get up as if nothing happened. This gets really frustrating when your shooting at people in places where you cant see or hear their body on the floor. Also it just doesn’t feel good to spray load of bullets at a guy for them to just shrug it off a few seconds later. Navigating some of the earlier levels can be very annoying, its hard to tell what doors can be opened, and or when they can be opened. Some levels are way to dark especially "Buried in Red", to really see anything. It completely obfuscates enemies and where you need to go. I get what vibe they’re going for but it just makes some levels way to frustrating. The game could also do with more levels, as it currently stands its a very short game, that you can easily finish in a little over an hour and its not all that re playable. I found the injury mechanic to be a bit awkward. I would have preferred if I would have just died so I could restart instead of waiting for my character to aim straight again. The audio could also do with a lot of work, there are large sections of the game where I didn’t really hear anything. Guys should be shouting at your more, civilians screaming stuff like that. Overall though I do like the game it just needs more work. I hope that they are able to improve it further before it leaves early access.
