Bendy and the Dark Revival

Loved this game. Huge step-up from Ink Machine. My only problem is that the fights are a tad unbalanced. Well, either that or I absolutely suck. Attempting to defeat anything on Hard mode without losing most of your health is something I've never achieved. However, I did have a great experience on Easy and Normal. I recommend Dark Revival more than the previous game, actually. I mean, of course if people want a better narrative they should start with the first one, duh. But if someone asks "hey, which Bendy game is overall more fun to play?", Dark Revival would be my answer.

Let me set the stage for you -- it's Thanksgiving weekend. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins are sat all around the table -- good food, good times, and good cheer. Of course, you as a a then 16 year old are not participating in any of this because you are under the impression that you are too cool for family gatherings. Instead, you hear that the sequel to a game you played 5 years ago has finally released. Without a second thought, you spend your hard earned money on it. "Thirty dollars?" It's a bit more expensive than you'd usually pay for a game but you figure that there's enough content to keep you busy for that price. You play through the entire game. You beat it! And it's awesome. You think it's so awesome that you play it a second time, and then a third. You beat it on every mode! You know this game like the back of your hand. You then hear that a sequel to THIS game is currently in the works. And you're ecstatic. You play the previous game all over again (as is tradition). And something feels a bit off now... the controls don't feel right, the story isn't all too interesting, characters feel a bit flat, the abilities and combat are frustrating and at times, broken, and was the game always this buggy? You come to the startling realization that these problems and more always existed. You've been blinded by nostalgia and only now have the goggles came off. The game that you loved and played endlessly was actually a great big mess this whole time. Your favorite game actually... sucks? Yes. Yes it does. A lot. Anyone who has played this game through to its entirety (about 33.6% of you from the achievements last I checked... on easy mode) should not be surprised in the slightest at the permanent price cut given to this game. It truly shocks me how much more hate franchises like Hello Neighbor and Poppy Playtime are given in the mascot horror space compared to Bendy considering that it is just as sloppy, just as predictable, just as greedy, just as lazy, and just as laden with controversy as its contemporaries.

few things that made the experience not good for me. the combat is not good, boring, it was better if it didn't exist at all and it would have been just stealth survival or something. there is no mini map and the backtracking is so confusing. the enemies spawn after every re-load, which I have when this happens. at some points there is an annoying enemy that come out of nowhere, without explanation, just to have a jump scare without any other purpose. the story is not really interesting. graphics are ok, but it has like a stutter effect which I couldn't ignore. I didn't finish the game eventually..

Bendy and the Dark Revival is the sequel to the original Bendy and the Ink Machine. Visually it looks wonderful, the Ink Demons design looks amazing, and Little Bendy is SOOOOOOOOOO CUTE :D Henry getting a design is also great, I remember the era where many used that one bearded old man for him lol. Ink Demon getting a voice was also cool and really good. The abilities were fun, loved fast travel it made collectable hunting way easier since I was trying to look for everything as I went. The boss fights were nice overall. I love the designs of them :) The lore about the Cycle and everything was interesting. Also love that you can pet Tom :) The only things are I wish the Ink Demon encounter wasn't just a timer, and the combat can get really repetitive. Overall I had a lot of fun. Can't wait to see more :)
