I love sci-fi, nonhuman characters, and questions of humanity and ethics, so this game was absolutely up my alley! I was a Kickstarter backer, and have actually been hyped for this game for several months. After finishing the first Chronicle, I am pleased to say that this game absolutely lived up to my expectations, and I enjoyed it immensely! The writing for this game is excellent. The dialogue was fun and relatable, and the voice acting was stellar and fits perfectly with the writing. I am glad the creators were able to include the full voice acting, because it is beautiful and adds so much to the game. I don't play many games with full English VA, so it was a treat to hear everything in my native language. I especially love our voiced MC! For the overall plot and theming, I would call this a sci-fi slice-of-life. The character interactions, and character development are where this game really shines. The world building is not the focus of the game, and while there is some to create the setting, it is on the less developed side. This was especially obvious in the endings, which wrapped up well but did not necessarily explore the world. (This may be touched on more in the additional DLC routes! I do hope so, for while I don't feel that every sci-fi story needs to be an epic adventure, I am partial to them myself ) This first Chronicle contains two routes, Victor and The Nightmare Prince. Both routes were really lovely and well done. My personal favorite was Victor, TNP was sweet but ultimately not my type. Light character descriptions below - no game spoilers, but hidden for those who like to be surprised! Victor is
strict, blunt, and permanently irritated, without crossing the line into cruel. It was honestly extremely refreshing to have "cold" archetype character where you get the satisfaction of warming them up, without having to throw yourself on their prickles for it!
The Nightmare Prince is
mysterious and the route has some darkness, but he and the route are overall very wholesome. He is young and it shows.
Side characters include Diego, Zaffre, Roman, and Klaus. These are all characters that will receive routes in future DLCs. They do have a strong presence in these two routes, hanging out with Aureve as well as each other which results in strong bonds across the cast - something I always appreciate in visual novels. They are also teased just enough to make me very curious about their routes! I would be remiss to talk about the game without speaking in Aureve! She is a wonderful heroine, and I really enjoyed stepping into her shoes. She is kind, levelheaded, and has a fun sense of humor light spoiler, but she likes to
tease the LIs
, which I adore). She is also incredibly beautiful, and I love seeing her change her hairstyle! I really enjoyed the art, and think the sci-fi theming is really well done. The sprites are honestly stunning, and have a good range of expressions. The backgrounds are clean and fit the theme. The cgs are sweet, but a little stiff at times. I do want to note that this visual novel is quite difficult. There is no in-game indicator of correct choices nor is the text always clear which answer is 'correct', and the good ends are somewhat difficult to get. I expect that there will be fan-guides available shortly after release so this might well be a non-issue, but you will want to be prepared to reference one to get that sweet, sweet good ending rush! Overall, this is a lovely story and well worth playing. I can't wait until the next chapter!

Belle Automata is a Sci-fi otome game with six love interests! (For now only Chronicle I is out! This means that the routes available are those of "The Nightmare Prince" and "Victor") I finished playing Belle Automata Chronicle I and now I am left wanting more! I had so much fun meeting every android and human in the story! I can't wait for Zaffre's route already!! Story, Artwork & Soundtrack "Aureve is content with making tapestries with her master—but when he dies, his family sells her to a reclusive buyer. Thrown into a world of other androids, she must find her place and above all, answer the question: how does one weave a new identity when the strings to the old have been cut?" The plot of Belle Automata is so captivating, it'll make you want to keep playing just to find out how everything will resolve in the end! Aureve is the nicest android cinnamon roll ever, she's an amazing MC! She goes through some difficult situations after having spent 60 years living a certain way. She embarks on a journey of self discovery and I found myself routing for the fullfillment of her dreams even more than for her to get the guy! The art is beautiful. It's got futuristic elements to it which I enjoyed a whole lot! I liked every love interest, they all have a tragic and mysterious past to uncover. The music is fun and a perfect match to the mood of the game, the characters' theme songs are THE BEST and fit perfectly! Having played both The Nightmare Prince and Victor's route i can tell how one route is suppost to have a lighter tone than the other. For those who enjoy drama at its peak, a little bit of mythology and fairy tales references you will love The Nightmare Prince route! For those who enjoy a mix of tsundere and kuudere in their love interests Victor will not disappoint! Voice acting All the actors and actresses working on this project are so freaking talented! The voices match perfectly with the characters. The fact that the androids had a metallic voice so diffrent from the humans made the game look even more realistic! OVERALL: Story: 8/10 Art: 8/10 Romance: 8/10 Drama: 8/10 Total otome points: 8/10 If you are in the mood for a fun and futuristic experience you NEED to check Belle automata out!
This game is really beautiful with amazing music, funny, uplifting, lighthearted but with enough drama amazing characters, an amazing storyline, good-looking and fun romance-able characters with great designs, beautiful music, well-fleshed characters with realistic problems, and it is also very deep and thought-provoking - truly one of the best otome games I've ever played and is typical of the quality of this studio. The opening movie is good and doesn't spoil the whole story which I like. It is not what you think it'd be about and the writing is very good. My favorite part is about finding what you want to do with your life and how it deals with abelism and the ownership. At first it made me think of slavery and human trafficking which bothered me deeply but I like the way it is handled. It is a wonderful game and I can't wait to finish it. I'll be sad but I recommend Iwahime, Bustafellows, AI The Somnium Files 1 and 2, and Ace Academy for games with great art and interesting stories with high production values. But man, is this game a really well-produced game! I love it and it makes me so happy. I was really feeling bad and games like this just make my life so much better! This game is like therapy for people who are looking for their purpose or just in general. A solid 10/10 worth it at full price. Robot love is so cute <3333333 and this game is not heavy but still thoughtful.
This game is by far one of my favorite visual novels. For starters all the characters are adorable and each with their own uniqueness that you never forget about them. Victor being my favorite of course lol! Truly this game is special and I can't wait for the other characters to come out!
I wasn't sure how to feel about the filtered voices at first, but they grew on me pretty quickly. Now I think it's one of the more unique features of the game. Having everything fully voiced is also a treat in itself - the voice actors did a great job and they're pleasant to listen to. I started off with Nightmare Prince's route and I'm quite enjoying it so far. Zaffre ended up being surprisingly fun from the interactions I saw with him in the meantime; I'm looking forward to his route. Roman and Klaus also have me intrigued. Best of luck to the developer with further endeavors!
I thought this was a really good otome game. I just loved it! I especially appreciated that they didn't shy away from making the female protagonist have her own unique personality, talents, and arc: rather than making her a total blank slate. I also found her to be quite likeable - a calm, respectful, contemplative, and kind sort of person. I recommend leaving her with her default name 'Aureve' when playing, as then it will be included in the spoken dialogue. The characters are all very interesting and well-written, and the more time spent on them the more dynamic you realize they are. This is the first release and only two of the love interests are romanceable for this entry - The Nightmare Prince and Victor. But happily I read that Chronicles II and III are confirmed to complete the series and provide romantic routes for the other characters as well. The writing was interesting and kept me engaged. The content was very wholesome, and the voice acting was nice, clear, and easy to listen to. Some of my favorite interactions between characters actually weren't even within a romantic context, but during the comic relief portions where Aureve interacted with characters like Diego and Zaffre in a platonic way. There were some really nice scenes where they were just being good, supportive friends to Aureve in-between acts. Doctor Klaus was also an intriguing character, who I would describe as a cerebral yet somewhat scatterbrained sage. I also appreciated that the romantic interests' storylines are clearly labeled at an early relevant choice: so that you know which romantic interest the focus is on by choosing that route before you're into the thick of things. That way, unlike other dating sims I've played, you wont be trying for one character's route only to get derailed by accidentally attracting the interest of a different love interest altogether mid-game. Each romantic interest has a good, neutral, and bad ending - which you will get depending on your choices as you play. I really look forward to getting to know these characters better in the DLC releases. I'd say this is now one of my very favorite otomes! I will do my best to wait patiently for more.
I love all the character designs, to me it's a unique Visual Novel otome game that you won't see everyday!
Lovely otome game with wonderful characters and designs. The writing is good overall. My favorite route was Victor, I thought it was the best so far.
The dialogue is voiced, which adds some incredible immersion and a real take on how the characters express given lines. There are currently only 2 routes, the other cast coming on in the future probably (I wanna do Diego so bad, fuf). All of them have different personalities, both reflected on their audio and their drawn style. This game is lowkey a nice surprise compared to what I have played so far (and I have paid more for less). Particularly for a couloured skin cast (I absolutely dig this, I'm used to the mainstream light skinned choices to pick), this is refreshing. A few improving points would be to make a better separation of the prologue from the main story, and I had one of Aureve's CG with the Nightmare Prince where she actually didn't have the correct hairstyle of her sprite. Besides these kind of inconsistencies, I played NP's route in about 3-4h, so there's enough content.
I haven't gotten to play much of this game yet but what I did get to play has made my week all the better! It was just the pick me up I needed. I look forward to when I can sit down and finish the game so I can write more about how lovely it is! Also if you do enjoy this game consider supporting the kickstarter for chapter 2! I want to routes for the other boys too.
