I’m not crying, you’re crying! 😭 What a SWEET game! A kind friend who shares my love of niche hand-drawn games gifted me a copy of Becca last night, and I’m grateful because it wasn’t even on my radar! Becca is a playable storybook. An absolute DELIGHT! The artwork is a soft mixed-media that reminds me of a blend of crayon, colored pencils, and chalk sketches. It’s a pastel wonderland, and a feast for the eyes and soul. The gameplay is simple. Lots of pointing, clicking, and a bit of hidden object. Chapters are sorted in a table of contents and can be replayed should you miss anything. The game took me about an hour to finish, and considering the handcrafted-ness, I’d consider $2 a very fair price! I appreciated the unpredictability in the flow of the doodles. Meaning: pages shift right, left, up, down, etc. It keeps the pace feeling really fresh (contrasted with merely flipping pages from one side to the next in a book). The story is so touching. My husband and I have rescued many animals. Among them are three dogs and one cat who have all crossed the rainbow bridge, as well as one cat who has gone permanently missing (for now; still praying for his return!). Another of our cats went missing several weeks ago, but happily returned home safe and sound this week. So, needless to say, the message struck a chord with me, as I think it will with anyone who has lost an animal companion in some way. There’s also a complimentary storyline about belonging. But the tears are happy tears, rest-assured! The message is uplifting, and a wholesome reminder to appreciate your here and now. Or, to “bloom where you are planted,” as one of my favorite quotes goes. I played this on a handheld! I mapped my joysticks to mouse movements, and the bumpers to left-clicks. It worked mostly well. A few of the mini games didn’t seem compatible with this arrangement, resulting in my “losing” them (without any hindrance to the story or achievements). On a few occasions, I found it simpler to use the touchscreen, which worked flawlessly! A huge recommendation from me for anyone who appreciates hand-drawn artwork, and especially if you have lost a beloved animal companion in some way, but endeavor to keep alive their beautiful paw prints that they’ve left upon your life. 🐾 💚

Becca is a simple point-and-click game with a heartfelt story about the healing power of an affectionate pet, pursuing your dreams, creating new friendships and even finding love as a teenager after moving to a new town. The game plays very much like an interactive storybook in which you dwell on a page for mere seconds, clicking around to trigger various events before you move to the next page. There are a few puzzles to solve, but all of them are very easy to figure out. There is neither time pressure nor any logical process involved, as the game is designed to immerse the player into its story instead of providing challenging puzzles. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3387279173 Becca takes roughly one hour to complete and all the achievements can be obtained in a single playthrough. To progress through the game, you will need to find the key in each chapter that unlocks the next one. Aside from keys, there are two special items to find, but they are not exactly missable as you can replay past chapters after you complete the main story. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3387279253 The family-friendly concept of Becca together with the warm message that it sends makes it suitable for younger audiences as well as for more mature players who want to take a brief trip into their childhood memories. It's a short, sweet and cozy game, with a unique hand-drawn art style. As a pet owner, Becca's story got to me. The game is wholesome and the art style is so good and original. I can tell that the developer put a lot of hard work into this :D
Becca is a cute and simple point-and-click with a unique art style and funny game mechanics. The story about a little girl who lost her pet and moved into a new town is heartwarming, and I finished the game three times, together with my toddler. He can't read yet but loves the funny faces and sound effects. This is definitely a great game for kids who enjoy some light puzzles alongside a surprisingly realistic slice of life. This game is super cute! The art style is pleasing on the eyes. It's a point and click game and a very satisfying one (nice sound effects when getting important items and a very cool UI) so if you like the genre you'll adore this game. It also has a sweet story and anybody with a pet will be touched!
Fun little game for the youngest because of easy gameplay. The plot revolves around young Becca, who has recently moved to another town and is prepared for her first day of school. You will accompany her through the first month in seven short chapters, as she makes new friends, figures out how to win the art contest, and remembers her missing pet. This is a game for everyone, regardless of skill or age. The only thing you have to do is move the mouse around the screen, click on various items, and occasionally drag an object. Although your main objectives are identified in distinct ways, you can click on one or two other items to observe how they respond. A chapter is linear and has several scenes. Each scene has a clear objective that allows you to continue the story. Scenes are beautifully drawn, and the overall experience seems like you are reading a children's book. There are no spoken words so the game is universal. Each chapter contains one scene with a hidden key. It is bright yellow, so it should be easy to identify even when not entirely visible. This opens a page in the album that allows you to click on a few images.
I had a lovely time playing Becca with my children. We appreciated the game's pace and its pleasing art style, which perfectly complemented the sound effects and story. The mix of characters, along with Becca's expressive reactions and the warm atmosphere they brought, was enjoyable. I recommend giving Becca a try!
Becca is a delightful, cozy game that stands out with its crafty and cute art style. The gameplay is easy. The game is filled with positive vibes and a reminder of the importance of love and friendship. It's a little gem that promises to leave you with a smile.
Becca is a short point and click game with an adorable art style and a very relaxing vibe. The puzzles are simple but still enjoyable for a relaxing experience! You can really tell the developers really put their hearts into making this short yet very sweet game. Overall, I'd recommend this for anyone who wants a nice and relaxing game with a heartfelt and honestly kind of emotional little story!
