Not Meh ( But Abandoned :/ )

Most of the negative reviews are because of the dev abandoning this game in early access, which is a fair complaint. But the game itself is decent, I'd even say that it's above average for a survivors-like game especially for how cheap it is.

В игре нет общей прогрессии между цензурной и нецензурной версии. Игра жрёт столько ресурсов, сколько ААА проекту не жрут - оптимизация кошмар. Игра неиграбельна на линуксе, а соответственно на стим деке.

TLDR; Despite not realizing its full potential, Beautiful Mystic Survivors is a classic Survivors-like experience with a variety of charming character designs and good tracks, especially worth the value if ever on sale. I went into this game knowing it was incomplete. I had seen the comments, dev notes, a lot was posted here on Steam. With this in mind, I wanted to know if Beautiful Mystic Surivors would be worth my time. In short, yes. First and foremost, this a classic Survivors-like experience. 6 weapons, 6 passives, weapons go to level 8 and passives to 5, match the passive to a maxed out weapon and chest drops give evolved weapons. Simple. Mystic Survivors is generous in that the game tells you what passive evolves a weapon when it levels up during a game, very handy. There are a variety of characters that all start with a different weapon and have a unique ability, again, nothing revolutionary. What is different is that all weapons and passives have a rarity system. For example, the Crystal Bow can be offered to you as a weapon upon level up. However, taking another option and leveling again could have you rolling the same weapon but at a rare, epic, or legendary rarity. Higher rarity means better upgrades upon leveling and more upgrades, sometimes offering two stat boosts over a single one. This can change your play on the fly since you may try to capitolize on legendary weapons when they're offered. Other stand outs are the different designs and colours on these girls, the cast of ten is varied. I also found myself surprised by some of the tracks on this game, there are some real bangers in here. There wasn't a lot I found lacking in this game. Once or twice when there were a ton of enemies on screen did I experience lag spikes. The pacing of the game is all over the place. You'll unlock a ton of content at a steady pace then everything sudden dries up. This is where the incomplete status of the game shows. The maps lack real variety, some boss fights could use a little tweaking, small things. On the completionist side, everything was going smoothly until I had to do the 200K and 400K kill unlocks. I was at roughly 193K, so it wasn't going to be hellish, but a definite slog if I wanted all the achievements. Weird thing, you can see the pacing issues if you go for 100%. The reroll is locked behind that 400K achievement, a staple of Survivors-likes progression. At which point, when you get it, you've played all the stages a ton, unlocked all the characters, got all the upgrades, there's nothing left to do. The off pacing really shows at the tail end of this game. Yet, despite these problems, I had a wonderful week playing this game. I showed friends the designs, we picked our favourites, and enjoyed exploring the mechanics. Beautiful Mystic Survivors didn't overstay its welcome and, even though it isn't finished, I recommend this game. I would hope the project lead comes back and finishes it, I would love to see the complete vision fully realized. I feel so strongly about it that I will be playing and trying the H version of this game and see how that changes the experience. Who knows, maybe I played the inferior version?

Довольно простой по механикам рогалик. Один забег длится 30 минут, после чего появляется финальный босс. Метапрогрессия немного спорная: обновление выбора награды за уровень можно получить только за ачивку «Истребитель» (убийство 400к монстров), и получаешь ты её самой последней, так как для всех остальных ачивок достаточно пройти по одному забегу за каждого персонажа (кроме Софии и Минос), а это открытие всех оружий и улучшений. Есть выбор сложности, но непонятно зачем: отдельных ачивок за них нет, таблицы каких-либо рекордов тоже... Ну, есть и есть. В целом, каких-либо проблем или багов я не встречал, графика приятная. В 2022 году я бы точно посоветовал в неё сыграть. Сейчас же в этом жанре хватает игр намного глубже и увлекательнее. Но если захочется чего-нибудь попроще — вполне можно ознакомиться.
