The 12.99 bundle deal came with it, and now it's almost 100 hours in. I've seen a lot of reviews saying 2042 has launcher issues, anti-cheat system problems, and optimization issues, but I haven't encountered any of those myself. Personally, I think this generation has improved player mobility, making it quite enjoyable to play. The fast-paced large-scale battles really suit my taste. When the game first released, there were many bugs mentioned, but by the time I bought it, most had been fixed. I haven’t run into many issues while playing, and overall, it feels pretty smooth. Some also mention difficulty finding matches due to low player numbers, but this can be solved by using an accelerator for EU servers. Playing against Europeans gives a great experience—opening the mic makes communication easier if you know some English, and their overall conduct is generally better. I’ve even added a few European friends as EA buddies, and it’s quite fun to make foreign friends. Regarding the issues I mentioned above, if you haven't encountered any of them, then 2042 is indeed a game worth getting (when on sale). At twelve ninety-nine, it's a masterpiece—no bugs, no brainers, just go for it. However, if you've experienced one or more of these issues and can't resolve them within two hours, I still recommend immediately requesting a refund. After all, judging by other reviewers' harsh critiques, these problems really do ruin the gaming experience. Next, let's talk about the highlights of this game: 1. The AI mode, although the story mode has been cut, farming chips in PVE is truly exhilarating, {especially for someone like me who loves chips}. Moreover, after being crushed by pros in PVP, you can switch to AI mode to practice your aim and other skills. Gradual progression can indeed improve your technical proficiency (like me, who has a competitive streak—my FPS skills have definitely improved). It’s very beginner-friendly and easy to pick up. 2. Portal Mode: This is essentially a creative workshop with highly diverse gameplay. However, editing content yourself seems to require navigating the official website, which can be somewhat cumbersome. Nevertheless, many experts on Bilibili have already created and shared their own code for others to experience. 3. High mobility (such as handheld Ntw50, shoulder-launched airburst launchers, and sprinting), which varies from person to person. High mobility is indeed exhilarating, but on the other hand, it can also widen the skill gap between players. 4. Weakened Vehicle Status (Is this also a highlight?), the destructive power of vehicles in this generation has significantly decreased. Ground vehicles feel slightly less responsive, and area damage from shells has been heavily nerfed. However, aerial vehicles have become much easier to control. 5. The game features a rich selection of vehicles, firearms, and expert systems, with each weapon, expert, and vehicle occupying its own niche, significantly enhancing diversity and gameplay variety. However, one aspect that disappoints me is the diminished role of snipers in this installment, along with the questionable presence of the rosh Mk2—could that be removed...( I'm done with this gun) Original: These are some personal experiences and thoughts from my travels, hoping to contribute to fellow readers who may come across this. Thank you for reading.
Absolutely one of the worst Battlefield games ever made. The game is basically dead—most matches are filled with AI bots because there aren't enough real players. Finding full, active servers is a joke. On top of that, the optimization is terrible. My CPU would randomly spike in temperature, even hitting 100°C, and the game caused my PC to crash multiple times. No other game on my system does this. Whether it's poor optimization or bad CPU usage, it's unacceptable. If you're thinking about buying Battlefield 2042, don't. Save your money. If you already bought it and can still refund it, refund this garbage immediately. There are far better Battlefield games and shooters out there that actually run properly and have active player bases.
The game is not worth to play in 2026, BFV/BF1/BF6 is way better and those are not dead, you will only face bots in this game and the performance is still bad.
