Sequel to its successful predecessor, Battle Academy 2 moves the action east – to the bloodied plains of Mother Russia. When a gritty new look, great new features, and random mission generation meet battle-proven gameplay you can be sure of a turn-based strategy classic!

great turn rts game
BA2 is just as good as BA. Furthermore, BA2 fixes some small shortcomings of the first game. I definitely recommend BA2 to anyone who enjoys turn-based strategy or WWII games.

Nice addition if you like Battle Academy. Turn-based feels like reasonably real scenarios w nice opp to use tactical WWII battle strategies.
This is a step-up from Unity of Command and takes players through the basics of the Second World War in Eastern Europe. Some cool points include the use of grenades to pop tanks and pretty detailed gameplay with realistic fog of war, garrisoned units in multiple levels of buildings, and apparently an accurate representation of geography and relative military capabilities. I only say "apparently" because I did not check the geography against googlemaps or the units against the actual battles, but I think Slytherine has a decent reputation for making sure games are relatively historically accurate. Some of the games from this studio can be a bit rough graphically, but these were pretty nice at the time it came out. There is also a decent multiplayer function if you want to play any of these with two players. It does use a chess like grid for turn-based combat, which makes serious turn-based gamers really angry. Probably the most important contribution that this game makes is that while it does not use the "new" at the time hexes, the direction of the units may be diagonal, so you essentially have a hex set-up where direction the unit is placed matters. We cannot wait for chess pieces to start having directions, as well (just kidding, we like the flank attacks in this game, though, it makes playing easier).
