Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 29.29/day in the week to Jul 30 → 35/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

One night. One island. Endless memories. Still one of the greatest superhero games ever made. 17 years later, Arkham still reminds everyone why Batman doesn’t need superpowers. Played it at 12. Finished it again at 28. It aged better than most modern games. Anyone else visiting Arkham in 2026?

One Of The Best Opening In The Gaming History Such A Masterpiece I Remember Playing This Game As A Kid And Now As A Grow Man I Love It Even More...
Batman: Arkham Asylum: A Near-Perfect Batman Game

TL;DR
Batman: Arkham Asylum barely feels its age where it matters. The combat is simple but satisfying, predator encounters make you feel genuinely dangerous, Arkham Island is packed with atmosphere and secrets, and the voice acting and art direction still hold up remarkably well. Its biggest weaknesses are repetitive boss fights, Detective Mode being almost too useful, and a few mechanics the sequels would eventually refine. 9.5/10: An exceptional Batman game that still deserves to be played.

Combat & Predator Gameplay
Arkham Asylum's FreeFlow combat is deceptively simple. Attacking, countering, stunning, evading, and using gadgets is easy to understand, but maintaining long combos while responding correctly to different enemies gives the system much more depth. Once you find the rhythm, Batman effortlessly moves between enemies and a well-executed fight can look almost choreographed. Later games expanded the system considerably, but the foundation here is already excellent. The predator encounters might be even better. Against armed enemies, you stalk guards from gargoyles, hide beneath floor grates, create distractions, use gadgets, and quietly remove them one at a time. Watching the survivors become increasingly terrified remains incredibly satisfying. My main complaint is Detective Mode. Seeing enemies through walls and highlighting important objects is extremely useful, but it is so useful that there is often little reason to turn it off. For a game with such excellent environments, spending so much time looking through a blue filter is unfortunate.

Arkham Island & Exploration
Arkham itself might be the best part of the entire game. Rather than giving Batman a huge open world, Rocksteady confines the game to a relatively small interconnected island. Medical facilities, botanical gardens, caves, cell blocks, and abandoned sections all feel distinct while still belonging to the same place. New gadgets gradually open previously inaccessible paths, giving exploration a light Metroidvania structure. Returning to older areas stays worthwhile because there is usually a Riddler trophy, interview tape, riddle, or hidden area you could not reach earlier. The Riddler challenges are especially good because many require you to actually observe the environment rather than simply follow icons on a map. Arkham Asylum proves that a smaller, carefully designed world can be more memorable than a massive one filled with filler.

Story, Villains & Atmosphere
The setup is simple: Batman delivers Joker to Arkham, Joker takes control of the asylum, and one terrible night begins. The plot itself is not particularly complicated, but its strength comes from the characters, atmosphere, and constant feeling that Joker is controlling everything around you. Kevin Conroy is excellent as Batman, while Mark Hamill completely owns the role of Joker. His constant taunting over the asylum's PA system keeps him present even when you have not physically seen him for a long time. Scarecrow is another standout. His sequences are among the game's most memorable moments because they completely change the atmosphere and start messing with the rules you have become accustomed to. Unfortunately, the boss fights are probably Arkham Asylum's weakest element. Several rely on repetitive attack patterns rather than properly testing the combat and predator mechanics, and the final confrontation does not live up to the buildup.

Progression & Presentation
Progression is straightforward but effective. Experience unlocks new combat techniques, armor upgrades, and gadget improvements, while new equipment gradually expands both combat and exploration. Visually, the technology obviously comes from the late 2000s, but the art direction has aged far better than the raw graphics. Gothic architecture, industrial interiors, heavy shadows, rain, grime, and increasingly damaged environments give Arkham a fantastic identity. The audio is equally strong. Combat sounds brutal, enemies panic during predator encounters, and the soundtrack complements the atmosphere without overwhelming it. The PC version is old enough that legacy features such as PhysX can occasionally require extra attention on modern hardware, but the game itself remains extremely lightweight.

Final Thoughts
Batman: Arkham Asylum is smaller and mechanically simpler than its sequels, but its focus is one of its greatest strengths. The bosses could have been better, Detective Mode is overpowered, and later games refined nearly every individual system. Yet Arkham Asylum remains special because everything works together so well. If you like Batman, this is an easy recommendation. Even if you do not, it remains an excellent action game that helped establish a combat and stealth formula countless games would later borrow from. More than anything, Arkham Asylum understands Batman: the fighting, detective work, intimidation, gadgets, villains, atmosphere, and feeling of being one person walking into a building full of criminals who gradually realize they should be afraid of you. 9.5/10: Nearly perfect. Absolutely recommended.
