I realised I have 1100+ games in my Steam library and I was going to die before I played them all. So thought I'd spend a bit of time on each one, a new one every night, and leave a short initial review. This is a real surprise, and unknown gem of a game. It's a stylised almost steampunk like retro type arcade machine that is a mechanical twin stick shooter if such a thing could be invented. Great art style, graphics, sound, story, humour, action with twin stick shooting from unusual changing angles and a little bit of Pac man thrown in for good measure. The more you play the better the weapons and I had to drag myself away to play something else. I may even come back later and try and finish it. I hope it runs on Steam Deck! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Pewpew old timey good fun
JOGO DIFÍCIL DA DESGRAÇA KKKKK, RECOMENDO MUITO DAORA
While checking out Bartlow's Dread Machine, for once, I didn't even bother reading the reviews first. The art looked so great and the on rails aspect looked so fun that I just hit purchase. Then I checked it out for a few levels and all my joy turned sour. While I do enjoy the old school characteristics of the movement, it just doesn't work because the controls are too slow to react to your inputs. Meanwhile, the melee enemies will close in on you FAST while the others shoot at your general direction. This means taking your time, losing the money since it disappears, and hoping your placement is correct or you'll die. Speaking of money, you will get a few dollars after each map to purchase unlockables, but nowhere near enough to gain anything impactful. Expect grind. A lot of it. Also, the control scheme is just terrible. Ammo being (quite) limited, keeping your finger on the trigger will not result in shots being done in succession. You have to release the trigger, and then shoot again. Which means dodging is a tad complicated since you gotta move, keep your concentration to shoot, and then aim at the same time. Said issues can be fixed by editing the control scheme in Big Picture and using a controller with a turbo function, but if you gotta use external tools to fix the gameplay, there's a problem. Now, there are a few cool things in the game but as an example, I love chocolate, cheese and red meat. Make me a soup with both of those and I'm absolutely certain to vomit after the first spoon. This is what the game feels like. Individually, I don't feel like the gameplay aspects are really an issue, but mixed together, they just don't work. Great concept, great looks, but poor execution. Sad!
fun for a few hours
Arcade entretenido, con un escenario muy original.
This game definitely isn't a masterpiece, but it for sure deserves to be more popular. The game is quite original with different guns, perks, and a story. There are some cool bosses to shake up the gameplay every once in a while. The only negative thing about the game is how unbalanced some levels are. Buy this if you enjoy trying something new :)
This is by all means a great on-rails shooter where you play with your character stuck on a real rails. You get attacked from every angle and you blast them to bits. Gameplay is pretty awesome. Graphics are decent and the sound is good. If i would rate this, then i would give this a 7.5 out of 10 points. RECOMMENDED!!!
Some good fun
