Baron of Blood

This is a finished version of what started as a DOS shareware game from 1999 that had one playable level. Playing the final finished game now has been a huge surprise with just how impressive everything about it turned out. The graphics are charming and detailed, the gameplay is as precise and responsive as you could ask for, and most importantly the stage design is incredibly good all the way through, with very tightly designed and interesting stages. Also surprising was the sheer volume of content the game brings, it was far richer and longer than I anticipated. A very enjoyable and charming experience all in all, recommended!

I strongly recommend Baron of Blood for those who enjoy platform games and beautiful pixel art. Baron of Blood was a delightful nostalgic journey, combining a good soundtrack, excellent pixel art, and a nice variety of environments and enemies. It's a challenging game, as is typical for this genre, but the difficulty is fair. You need to be careful with your jumps—nothing too extreme, but there are definitely some tricky sections, which I appreciate. The gameplay is simple and works very well. I didn't encounter any bugs or issues. Overall, it's a pleasurable game to spend time on, a 10/10 platformer for me.

I am a big fan of McCaw on twitch. After watching the stream where he played this game and gave the backstory I had to have it. To be honest, it has been a really fun game to play. It reminds me of some of the old PC platformers I used ot play back in the day and I really enjoined it.

Simple pixelart platformer game with good levels. Collect keys, use levers to open doors and fight bosses. I also like the easy access, no tutorial, no complicated controls, just start playing. The game also runs very smoothly and the music fits the respective worlds.

Ich habe das Spiel beim Herofest ausprobiert und fand die Mechanik sehr spassig. Ich habe es mir daraufhin auf Steam gekauft. Die Grafik erinnert mich sehr an Ghoust and Goblins von der Super Nintendo. Das Spiel ist in etwa auch genauso herausfordernd. Bis jetzt habe ich Spass und um ehrlich zu sein in seinen Bann gezogen :) 8/10

The game is fun and challenging. Chop down the undead and monsters that are in your way and dodge traps to get to the exit at the end of of every level. There are also hidden gems to get.

Fun game, hack and slash and good level design.
