However, I decided to take a chance and buy this on Steam at the release sale price of less than $13 USD. I can say that the little improvements this game has made since the demo have helped in changing my mind. As long as you don't have high expectations of a VR port, this is a chill, relaxing experience for VR that is easily worth $13 USD and that I do recommend. Yes, this game is no longer teleport only. It has full locomotion, as well as smooth and snap turning (you can set the speed for all). I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps on the highest graphical settings. There's lots of options available in the settings & yes, you can play this game comfortably seated. There is a crouch button (and a jump button). However, most of the VR interactions are of the point & click variety. There is no realistic physics. You can pick up any object and it will not have any weight to it and it will not have any physics either. You can use tools such as your axe, shovel, or metal detector. You can use cleaning stations which has a power washer that you can spray items down with to clean them up or an assembly station where you can put items together or a repair station where you bang a hammer on items to fix them. Despite the simple, mostly point & click interactions, this game has a fun, chill, relaxing gameplay loop that is satisfying. You go find items to sell via barn finding or auctions and then you fix them up. Then with the money you make, you upgrade your shop. There's lots of items to collect & some of them are very unique & funny. All characters speak gibberish, but there is a story going on as well. Aliens, ghosts, whatnot will appear while you're out barnfinding. It just keeps things from getting stale. I had fun. Honestly, for $13 USD, I couldn't have asked for more. Yeah, it's a clunky game with jank, but if you can look past that, it's also a fun gameplay loop if you're into this sort of thing. В целом - неплохо. Ничем не отличается от "не-вр" оригинала - всё осталось и работает как надо! Исследовать сараи и гаражи на лут всё так же интересно. Ходишь по локациям, собираешь вещи, чистишь/реставрируешь - продаешь. Следишь за денежным балансом. Открываешь новые станции, инструменты, делаешь ремонт в своем магазинчике. Увлекает. Сюжет обычный, со вкусом американской самоиронии. _____ Есть пара моментов, которые поднапрягли: - Нет физики. И независимо от того, какой предмет ты берешь - он всегда легкий (поднять мотоцикл так же легко, как и книгу). - Проходишь мимо скамейки, и если задел, она улетает с высокой скоростью на другой конец локации )) я всё понимаю, без таких косяков никуда. Но это происходит со всеми валяющимися стогами сена, баками и т.д. Реально ходишь как ниндзя, чтобы ничего не задеть )) - Нельзя брать в руки предметы, которые распознаются как хлам на быструю продажу (бутылки, банки, диски и т.д.). Эх, хочется же все потрогать! - Топор и лопата неестественно "приклеены" к рукам, когда их берешь. Работать ими конечно вообще не доставляет удовольствия (тем более без физики). Графика не шедевр, мыло встречается. НО, справедливости ради, видно что текстуры для предметов, которые можно взять в руки ОЧЕНЬ хороши, над этим точно поработали. Думаю, понравится не только фанатам игр от PlayWay. Рекомендую! 10 металлических баков, пролетающих над головой, из 10!

A cool game but a very bad VR port. What can I say. I really wanted to enjoy it but this looks like another cheap, unrefined port to VR. First of all, almost nothing is explained to you, not even all of the controls, like how to get back to the main menu (this will become important later). There are two motion modes, teleport and smooth motion. Most VR veterans will want to use smooth motion, but the default speed is waaayy to fast and causes motion sickness super quick. You can change the speed in the menu, but it doesn't seem to acknowledge your selection, or at least very quickly reverts to the default. Additionally there is a section in the first map that can only be reached by teleporting, and without finishing the map you can't advance the game. This wouldn't be so bad but it took me a long time to figure out how to get back to the main menu to change it again. There is no way to jump in the game, so some of the hidden items will be unavailable to you. luckily there are no achievements for this version so it doesn't matter if you miss them. The game leaves the cut scenes in the game, they just appear as if on a big screen floating in space. If you are lucky, you are facing the right direction when they play, otherwise.... well you didn't miss much. Unfortunately this goes for a lot of the in game menus too, they are just floating 2D images that may or may not open up in front of you. The computer interface is the worst offender and is almost never in the direction you are facing. The UI elements are often too small. The controls are inconsistent, you grab items in the 3D world with the palm controls (on Valve Index controllers) but you have to tap the buttons in the UI. Or at least you are meant to, for whatever reason they don't always register. I mean they make a clicking sound but the action doesn't trigger. I gave up on haggling because you have to press a button at a specific time, but the controls are so unreliable I could never do it. Luckily haggling is just a stupid mini game that slightly increases your profit so nothing major is lost. I tried to persist with it but the motion sickness and general jankiness made me abandon it. Maybe I will pick up the non-VR version when it goes on sale next.

Honestly, this is low key one of the best VR games. Unlike many VR games, this is a FULL REAL GAME. Big levels to explore and search for items. Lots of hidden items and out of reach areas that require special items to access. When you're done scavenging the level you go back home and open your shop and customers come in and buy the stuff that you found. Lots of special items too that require parts and assembly. Graphics are above average with nice level design. Works well in VR. I have envountered some minor bugs but nothing gamebreaking. Playing using the Vive controllers.

its just like playing the other one but VR, I have the pc version and VR. they can use a little tweaking but its a solid game.

Exact same game as Barn Finders, only in VR. That’s a good thing in my opinion. I own the original Barn Finders, and I like it. I’m glad to see they didn’t change anything, or screw anything up. First time I loaded BFVR up, I had no audio. The game ran smooth, but it was completely silent. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it, and everything works perfect now. The game runs smooth, and the audio and visuals look great. If you like the original Barn Finders, you’ll love Barn Finders VR. No complaints here. Solid 4/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Управление неудобное/кривое, физика посредственная. Интерфейс как не отдаляй в настройках появляется прям перед глазами. Все заставки проходят в режиме кинотеатра в шакальном качестве (еще и появляется экран в случайной стороне). Главный минус это баги. Лично я поймал баг с исчезновением кнопки на станции хранения, эта кнопка нужна чтобы выгрузить вещи из машины. Их можно выгрузить и вручную, НО не предмет для задания, его разрабы решили выгружать только по этой самой кнопке. Перезагрузки не помогли, единственный вариант был начать новую игру и надеяться что такое не повторится. Я выбрал сделать возврат средств. Судя по истории обновлений(которой нет) и новостям сообщества, это поделие авторы забросили и чинить не собираются. Очень жаль, оригинальная игра была забавная, а рыться по заброшкам в VR это то, чего не хватает индустрии, или лично мне... В общем НЕ ПОКУПАЙТЕ.

I tried the Demo a few month ago which ran terrible. Decided to give it a try still and they fixed it. It runs smoothly and is acutally a lot of fun.
