Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

Game wouldn't run on my PC because of known incompatibility with AMD drivers. I then put in my refund and gifted the game to a friend of mine to co-op on remote play. Apparently this caused my play time to increase even though I was only streaming it and the refund was declined.

£30 for a port.

Although I have only 5.3 hours on record, I used to play these game a lot as a kid on PS2. There is still heavy nostalgia every time I start the game and enter the elf song tavern. I just remember playing through the game in coop with my friend during sleep overs. We always rented it and for some reason he could never save the progress so each time it was like we were playing a roguelike. I can still hear the trader saying, "swords, axes, bows. We have everything you need right here!" It's an absolute classic of the ARPG genre and while I wouldn't say it is worth the price they are asking it is a good buy on sale. It is a good steam deck game.

This is the definitive experience for this previously console-exclusive title... only if the price weren't so high! Ignoring the wacky price, this is well worth playing. Somewhat short for an RPG, difficult for casual action RPG enjoyers, but runs well on Steam Deck. Achievements would have at least made the high price seem more worth it, but overall a solid recommendation if you don't mind paying this much.

PS2 memory: I've personally had a friend who was a total COD head, and this is what made him try D&D and enjoy it for the first time. 10/10 Gateway game, no pun intended.

Miserable junk with bad camera, bad controls, bad balance and very mid-ish gameplay. Not worth its price, buy it ONLY if you played it on PS2.

Great hack/slash old school RPG.

Best played with controller. I played the Steam PC port on steam deck and had a good time. Graphics and aesthetics: Pretty basic design. Nothing stuck out much to me too much. The cutscenes were amusing. Gameplay: More fun with friends to co-op with. Enjoyable hack and slash through a bunch of dungeons. Audio: It was pretty solid. Good soundtrack, one of the strongest points of the game. Audience: Teen and up. Mostly just enemies exploding into low poly chunks or bits of blood. Somewhat revealing clothing. Officially rated T. Difficulty: Pretty easy, you can make it through this on your own with ease. Grind: Each area is pretty short but the combat can get a bit old halfway in. Remains fun regardless. Story: This game is mostly focused on gameplay and has a pretty simple plot. What there was of a plot was neat. Every time i play this game it runs at like 3x speed even with framerate capped at 60 and at 30. I dont understand. The cutscenes just feel awful because the animation is do e before the npcs even finish 2 words. I love this game but this really feels awful after paying 40 dollars
