good game
EDIT: After giving it another go, I changed my mind. It is much better than I gave it credit for. (You might see only a couple hours of playtime total from me, but do note average game takes like 2-3 minutes). The gameplay is incredibly addictive, but the lack of enemies that can ride on player's lines (like sparks in Qix) does mean that trying to split every playfield in two with thin small stripes, then remaining part also in two, repeat; - is very much the dominant strategy. Then again, that was also the case in Volfied, and in Bad Sector developer at least added a time limit to encourage more aggressive play. The only thing I haven't changed my opinion is the instant respawn, I still keep losing lives this way. Also the music is an absolute banger. It feels like the janky controls were slightly intended and they are learnable. The real issue are glitches - the game is INCREDIBLY janky with crapton of glitches, that happen very often. They're not game breaking and are usually either minor or just annoying, but it's very much a It Just Works style experience. If you *can* bear them it really is a fun an addictive game easily worth the money. Okay, here's what I said originally couple years ago: _______________________________________ Honestly this kind of... sucks a bit in the normal mode. The Qix aspect is fine, but your controls are gimped. Your character constantly moves (unlike Qix and other similar games), and only stops at outer corners of territories. It doesn't stop at other intersections, which basically makes waiting for the right moment impossible... And waiting for the right moment is the entire point of Qix-likes. Instead, the game is replaced by hammering arrow keys, praying that you go through the right intersection instead of going in circles around the whole playfield. As a result, the gameplay is frustrating and I never felt like I was in control of the dot. Now, this is all subjective - you could say that this is the difficulty - but the following isn't. After you die, you IMMEDIATELY respawn with no delay or mercy invincibility. As a result, because deaths are so sudden, it's very likely you will not notice, and you will press the key you meant to press before dying... Which often will result in you shooting off into the empty field, easy prey for the enemies. Before you realize what just happened, you're probably already dead. And this can happen several times in a row, so a single mistake can compund into losing all lives in 5 seconds. Not pleasant. And I would definitely recommend against this game... if it was more expensive. Let's face it, this game is cheap as chips... And there are good parts. The audio/visual layers are pretty good (it's simple but pleasant as a piece of graphic design, and it fits with the theme), and aside from the slights gameplay is solid. I especially appreciate the Survival mode, which is an interesting and innovative take on Qix formula, and doesn't have either of the aforementioned problems (territory you claim immediately vanishes and you always move around the outer edge, and you have no lives). If you ask me, the Survival mode alone is worth the asking price. So my recommendation - buy it for Survival mode, and if you're interested, give the campaign a go and see if you like it. If you get tired of it - just quit and keep playing Survival. But if you do enjoy it, hey, more bang for your buck (single buck, as in dollar, because again, game is cheap as heck). However, I would most of all hold out for a sequel where you have more control over your character, and you have delay between deaths - I would buy something like that for much more than 1$, probably 5-10$ - again, if the gameplay was more polished. EDIT: It appears that you do have lives in Survival mode. I didn't notice because at some point, you fail immediately. I think there is a time limit (which would make Survival more of a Time Attack) but it isn't shown on screen, which I guess adds another minor gripe. But if you keep that in mind, Survival is still fun.

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.

Bad Sector HDD is a fun and challenging casual indie game that will test your skills as you immunize a data storage device from a vicious virus. The gameplay is fast-paced and requires quick thinking as the virus continually evolves and becomes more difficult to defeat. The graphics are simple but effective, and the sound effects are spot-on, adding to the overall atmosphere of the game. The inclusion of power-ups and an endless survival mode make the game even more enjoyable. The objective of the game is to reach a minimum immunization percentage before each round ends. As you progress, the virus will gain new abilities, making it harder to immunize the data storage device. You must be quick and strategic in order to win. The controls are easy to use, and the game runs smoothly on modern systems. However, for older systems, animations and effects can be disabled via in-game settings. The game also includes Steam achievements and trading cards, adding to the replayability of the game. Overall, Bad Sector HDD is a great game for anyone who loves casual indie games. Its fast-paced gameplay and challenging objective make it a great choice for both casual and hardcore gamers. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun and challenging experience.
Short Qix-inspired game without much to it. While nothing to write home about, for the low price it's fun enough to play through it once, which should take like half an hour or so. If you've recently completed Fortix 2 and still have the hang of it, you'll probably complete this game in under 15 minutes. There are only 24 levels, where each level simply adds 1 more of one of the 4 minion types. Thumbs up for game style.
