Bad Mojo Redux

I remember playing a demo version of this game when it just came out. I has always stuck with me so it's a great feeling to be playing it in full now so many year later. And it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The background graphics are so cool and I love the whole old-school vibe. Simple yet so ingenious. Great story, great puzzles. If you like indie games and appROACH this game with an open mind, you might just fall in love with it like I did.

I`d like a refund as this game is completely not working for me. i downloaded this game and launched it to windows telling me BADMOJOREDUX.EXE isnt loading. i re open the app about 20 times and cant seem to get it to work. i thought it could be a dpi setting but the game does not have a folder. anyone have any idea how to fix this?

TW: It has blood, animal death (roaches and rats), smoking, drinking, a puzzle is drugging a guy, and depictions of a former restaurant that is overrun with cockroaches for good reason. Nasty The game was surprisingly good! Very cheesy. It has cutscenes that were FMVs obviously recorded by the devs and whoever they could rope into doing a few scenes. It's the kind of hammy, bad acting that's super fun. Very charming But the environments are lovingly crafted. It's really gross, as you might expect from a game where you're a cockroach The gameplay is navigating the environment, figuring out where to go & how to get there, and some mild puzzle-solving elements. The game runs acceptably on modern computers (was playing the Steam version). Some fmvs didn't play correctly and the resolution was a bit wonky, but all was well. It doesn't have puzzles that are *impossible* to solve unless you have the manual. But it's the kind of game where you can just feel free to look up anything if you get stuck. It can be completed in a sitting or two. I had a good time with it.

This game is rad, that is all. A true, TRUE hidden gem. Rancid, filthy and disgusting. Soundtrack is so sick it makes you want to vomit, like most things in this game. Just so cool and weird and amazing. 10/10

Unfortunately this game does not function properly on my system and likely won't function a lot of Windows 11 systems. From my understanding it is because it is not run through DOSBox (it isn't emulated like many old titles are) and instead forces Windows into settings that are no longer supported. For me, as soon as the first FMV finishes, the input stops working, After turning off all overlays the next step of troubleshooting involves editing files in the install folder and that just seems a bit ridiculous. The devs likely did this to preserve the original version but it probably should be sold as a sort of package with the ability to run this or an emulated version. Just be cautious, if you are tech savvy I imagine there are workaround but wanted other laymen to have a warning.

Unc ahh game, made my desktop like a iMac G3 and froze after I tried to press the start button after ANOTHER 7 minute long cutscene with only TWO characters this time. Holy buns.

Замечательный квест, где ты играешь за таракана, и узнаёшь историю жизни людей. Красивейшие детально проработанные экраны окружения, потрясающая музыка и звуки, интересная история, хорошая игра актёров, качественная озвучка на русский язык. Очень скоро понимаешь, кто такие главные герои - намёки очень прозрачные. В игре разбросано ОЧЕНЬ много текста, который помогает вам понять историю. Всё это совершенно не обязательно читать, но у вас есть возможность узнать больше. Жаль, что этот текст на газетах и т.п. не был переведён на русский язык (но понятно, почему). Загадки не сложные, но есть моменты, когда я вообще не понял, где брать информацию для решения. Из минусов: - иногда после сохранения и продолжения игры таракан может застрять где-нибудь на краю экрана - помогает загрузка снова. - один раз застревание таракана было после перемещения на другой экран. - иногда бывают артефакты текстур. - один раз в самом конце не сработал ролик перехода на окончательный этап игры - пришлось перезайти в игру. Крайне рекомендую к прохождению. Игра очень короткая. Она однозначно стоит своего времени. P.S. И не забудьте, что у игры есть бонусные материалы в папке с игрой.

Bad Mojo is gloriously bizarre, with its full-motion video (FMV) sequences amplifying the unsettling vibe. You play as Roger Samms, a scientist turned cockroach via a cursed locket, scuttling through a grimy San Francisco unit. The FMVs, packed with cheesy acting and gritty visuals, weave a tale of sadness that’s as creepy as it is captivating. Its photorealistic (for the time) detail and quirky puzzles make it an era icon, but the oddball narrative and roach-eye perspective aren’t for everyone. Worth a try for fans of weird adventure games!

BEST game of the year better than bird man game

This review will be split in three parts: 1. [b]Redux portion of the game[/b]. Game does not have resolution selection and does not scale on 4K monitors. Menu still has weird navigation. Saving/loading game can soft lock you out of bounds. Clunky movement with uncontrolled spinning was not fixed. I was hoping at least for smooth scrolling instead of screen-to-screen transitions, but nope. Lowest effort possible - [b]0/10[/b]. 2. Gameplay. Sigh.... It is one of those games where you have to find some magical, nonsensical incantation to progress. Puzzles are purely stupid. Like for example you have to [spoiler]walk on electrical fuses to set decimal dials on electricity meter to code found 3 rooms away[/spoiler] (dude, if you are still alive I really hope you learned by now how electricity meters work). Or you have to [spoiler] get some baby roach on your back to be heavier despite tons of things laying around you could push to achieve the same result[/spoiler]. Bad even when compared to point-n-click standards of its era. Counterintuitive and annoying - [b]2/10[/b]. 3. Vibe. This game is so unique. Real actors cut scenes are emotional and heavy. Hints from animals are super trippy and fun. One of a kind - [b]9/10[/b]. Overall I cannot recommend it. It is a low effort, nostalgia cash grab, not proper remaster.
