Bad Janitor

Bad Janitor is essentially an inverse of the management simulation game genre; instead of trying to keep tenants in an apartment complex happy and appealing to their needs, the major goal of the game is to get everyone to leave out of frustration so the company you work for can demolish the property. This means the standard gameplay loop generally revolves around causing mischief and problems for the people inside the building, while also trying to keep up the facade that you're a legitimate janitor, which is pretty enjoyable and fun. That being said, the repetition of the gameplay does set in pretty early, and while there are a fair amount of different types of tenants with different items inside their rooms you can mess around with (as well as things they tolerate or dislike differently), the overall system of what you do as the levels get more complex doesn't change a whole lot, unfortunately. The game is fairly casual enough for its "campaign" mode that you can easily play it while listening to a podcast or something, and it's a pretty good game to zone out to. There is a "Freelance Mode" that you unlock from completing the main story of the game, and that allows for level customization, stricter deadlines, and other modifiers if you want to challenge yourself. In terms of the artwork and visual presentation, Bad Janitor has a really charming art style, and the UI and menus are very readable and pretty easy to navigate through. Alt tabbing the game can sometimes cause issues with menu navigation if you're using a controller, but it wasn't a game breaking issue and it generally fixed itself just fine. The character art is also very lovely, with several different expressions for all the tenants and characters, which becomes a good and cathartic indicator for how much you're annoying them before they finally leave the building. I do however wish the tenants had more than two lines of standard dialogue that they repeat over and over, since I think them saying things differently depending on how upset they are could add a lot to the general gameplay idea of causing trouble. I did mention earlier that this game is easy to listen to podcasts and other stuff while playing, but the soundtrack to Bad Janitor is very good in its own right. All the songs are enjoyable and fit perfectly with the gameplay and visuals. It works similar to a "jukebox" where you can pick and choose which song you'd like to listen to at any given time in the menu while you're playing, and I think it meshes very well. Overall this game is well worth the price if you're a fan of low commitment management and simulator games, or if you like quirky indie titles that have unique ideas and gameplay styles. Do note that the game can indeed be pretty repetitive, especially if you're planning on 100%ing, but all things considered I had a pretty fun time with this game.

Nice little indie game

Repetitive game loop, get's boring quickly and there isn't much to do or discover. The price is very fair though.

Bad Janitor is a fun little indie game with a lot of charm. The art style and soundtrack are both great, and the gameplay is simple but entertaining. It does get repetitive after a while, but I still had a good time with it and think it’s worth picking up.

Worth the money for the soundtrack alone. The humour is somewhere between potty humour and cynical social commentary, which is kinda fun. Like South Park, BJ gives different audiences a very different experience.

Let me just fart on your pillows. Annoy residents of different complexes until they move out. I only completed the first building but I could tell that the gameplay loop needed to be tweaked slightly. The idea of the game is great but having to sleep to pass time was a bit tedious. Instead of having the player wait for the sleep cycle it should have been a predetermined timeframe that you could sleep instantly. Perhaps in later buildings you have more to do but from my experience it was mostly sleeping until something happened. I recommend this if you are a disgusting monster similar to a landlord.

I had fun terrorizing the tenants. It is a bit finicky with using a game controller. On the menu screen it wouldn't let me select and I had to use a mouse to select items. Some items I have yet to figure out what they do like the scroll. I haven't played too long but it is fun so far. Every job (clearing out the building) is a new level with new tenats. This helps to add variaty to the game and less like a grind to annoy people. I personally like spaming hiting the pipes and drilling (for that special someone that WON'T LEAVE ). The manual is a helpful resource for finding the time schedual and what people dislike.

Got Bad Janitor from sale. So far it seems easily worth the money. Would pay this much for the soundtrack alone TBH.
