About
BACKROOMS: LIMINAL ESCAPE is a VHS-style horror game set in the eerie liminal spaces of the Backrooms. Featuring stunning photorealistic graphics and intense, engaging gameplay, it delivers a thrilling and immersive experience.
Unlike a typical Backrooms walking simulator, BACKROOMS: LIMINAL ESCAPE keeps you on edge with moments where you’ll need to run, hide, stay silent, and more to survive.
Explore a wide variety of maps, each carefully crafted to stay true to Backrooms lore. Every level adds depth to the mystery and horror of these haunting liminal spaces. You can also disable the VHS effect for an entirely different game.
Additionally, the game has a 'No Entity' option for players who want to explore the 12 different levels without any scares. (This option is available in the Extras section of the main menu.)

7/10 Honestly, one of the better backrooms games amid a sea of half baked asset flip slop. And its also not entirely a walking simulator either, as there are a few entity encounters, which do keep you on your toes. The game looks pretty good and you can turn the vhs filter off with the p button. The use of sound is also fairly good, which is important for these kinds of games. While I do think this should have been in early access since the game ends rather abruptly, there are supposedly more levels coming in the future. As it is, the game is only about 2 or so hours long. There are a few bugs as well, one of them game breaking. The door in the library wouldn't open after putting in the code, despite the sound of it opening playing. I was forced to skip the level with the level select feature (which you can also use to disable entity encounters) There is room for improvement, but for 5 bucks it's pretty good for what it already offers.
I honestly believe this is one of the best Backrooms game I've played. As a horror content creator, I see a lot of these games, and this one stands out. The VHS camcorder aesthetic perfectly captures that unnerving, grainy atmosphere. This is not a walking simulator; it's intense survival horror! You are forced to run, hide, and stay quiet through 12 distinct, lore-accurate levels. The tension is absolutely brutal! I appreciate the polish, too...you can even explore stress-free with the 'No Entity' mode. If you're looking for a game to genuinely terrify you, you have to get this. Highly recommended!
the game is good. But idk how to set the game to easy or normal. But i love the game its fun and scary. Oh also its filled with bugs like the end door not opening or 188 not letting me pause and even the entity in the run level just passing by me if im out of its way. hope this helps for the next update
this is a fun backrooms game for five bucks is well worth it with minor flaws needs a save state and to let you alter controls in game all in all i enjoyed this backrooms game and hope it adds more content dlc or free
Overall pretty fun. For the price, I highly recommend it :] It has it's glitches and unfortunately progress doesn't save. But the levels are still pretty and its a neat game.
Pretty good looking game a nice mix of the backrooms isolation fears and some entity involvement.
Amazing backrooms. I have almost 60 liminal space games in my account, 50 that are backrooms. Even with the VHS effects (I could not figure out how to turn them off), I still enjoyed to the end (not The End" as there are levels after that one). Being able to constantly run was a bonus. I hate to say it, I did take the short cut presented in one of the rooms.
