Just completed the game. An absolute blast of a backrooms game featuring realistic graphic, super magnificent head bobbing, around 10 levels, a fricking anomaly mode level that i got really lucky and beat, incredibly fun gameplay, trippy experience and overally a really fun backrooms game :D
Lethal Backrooms, developed and published by Alarm Studio, is a multiplayer survival horror experience inspired by the internet-born Backrooms mythos. Built around the concept of endless, liminal spaces filled with oppressive silence and lurking threats, the game attempts to translate the unsettling atmosphere of the original creepypasta into an interactive format. Players are dropped into maze-like environments with the primary goal of surviving, exploring, and ultimately escaping while avoiding hostile entities that roam the halls. The core gameplay revolves around navigation and evasion. Levels are designed as sprawling, often procedurally arranged labyrinths filled with repetitive corridors, flickering lights, and environmental details meant to evoke disorientation. Rather than focusing on combat, the experience emphasizes stealth and escape. Encounters with entities typically require players to hide, run, or coordinate with teammates rather than fight back. This design choice aligns with classic survival horror principles, where vulnerability and limited control heighten tension. Multiplayer functionality is one of the game’s central features. Players can explore the Backrooms alone or in co-op with friends, and the social element significantly alters the tone of the experience. Solo sessions tend to amplify isolation and paranoia, while cooperative play introduces communication and teamwork as survival tools. Navigating the maze together, sharing discoveries, and warning teammates of approaching threats can create moments of genuine suspense. At the same time, multiplayer can also shift the mood toward chaotic unpredictability, especially when panic spreads among players during sudden encounters. Atmosphere is the game’s strongest aspect. Lighting, ambient sound, and environmental repetition work together to create a persistent sense of unease. The sterile monotony of the hallways, combined with distant noises and subtle audio cues, reinforces the feeling of being lost in an infinite, uncaring space. The Backrooms concept relies heavily on psychological discomfort rather than explicit horror, and the game succeeds at capturing that uncanny emptiness at times. However, maintaining this tension over extended sessions can be challenging, especially when navigation becomes repetitive. Objectives and progression can feel opaque. Players are often tasked with locating exits, activating mechanisms, or uncovering key items scattered throughout the maze. While this encourages exploration, it can also lead to aimless wandering if direction is unclear. The line between deliberate disorientation and frustrating design is thin, and some players may struggle with the lack of guidance. The absence of a strong narrative framework means that the experience focuses almost entirely on atmosphere and survival rather than story development. Technically, the game reflects its indie and Early Access status. Performance can vary depending on system configuration, and certain elements of enemy behavior or environmental triggers may feel inconsistent. The design leans heavily on tension generated by limited visibility and surprise, but occasional technical roughness can disrupt immersion. Enemy encounters, while initially frightening, may lose impact once patterns become familiar. Despite its shortcomings, there is an undeniable appeal for fans of the Backrooms mythos. The concept of being trapped in an endless, shifting space with unseen dangers translates naturally into a cooperative horror setting. When the atmosphere, pacing, and multiplayer coordination align, the game can produce tense and memorable moments. The unpredictability of shared panic in dark corridors is where the experience shines most clearly. Overall, Lethal Backrooms stands as an ambitious attempt to adapt a viral horror concept into an interactive survival game. It captures elements of liminal dread and cooperative tension, but its effectiveness depends heavily on player tolerance for repetition and ambiguity. For enthusiasts of Backrooms lore and multiplayer horror exploration, it offers a space to immerse themselves in familiar unsettling imagery. For others seeking a more polished or narratively driven horror experience, its rough edges and limited structure may limit long-term appeal. Rating: 3/10
They did a great job with this one! Everything looks and feels great! Only things that need any work done are the entities since they tend to get stuck in one spot easily. Also, I think the caves are glitched because when I load in after finding the exit in the outdoor labyrinth, I get completely stuck in the rocks at spawn point and then quickly gets to a point that I can't turn on my flashlight, so after that all you can do is go to main menu .Can't wait to see how it progresses though. Keep up the good work!!
Leider wirklich wirklich müll :D
이런 좆망겜 왜 만드신거죠
Игра поносище. Неожиданно выбежавший тиммейт напугал больше, чем нигрeтoскиe монстры в этой игре. Если насрать на клаву, то говно и то лучше игру создаст.
Richtig schlecht. nicht zu Empfehlen. SCHADE!
