Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 18 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Calamity devastated this small village, stripping it of laughter, voices, and life. You play as a character determined to repair the damage, clean up the homes, and rekindle their hearths — creating comfort so the villagers are no longer afraid to return.

The village has 5 houses. Each one needs to be restored — sometimes with a hammer, sometimes with a broom or a screwdriver. Some repairs also require drawing special "gestures".
Once the house is cleaned and the fire is burning in the stove, you have to wait a little. The residents are about to return. You will have the opportunity to listen to their stories.

Back to Hearth is a game about more than just cleaning houses — it’s about uncovering the lives once lived within them. Each home holds memories, belongings, amulets, and other details that gradually reveal the villagers’ stories. Some of these items are added to your Collections after interaction, which you can view anytime in the main menu.

House Flipper but ... Smaller Scale Rural Picturesque No selling Heartfelt Comforting Emotional Wholesome A soothing little walking sim where you repair and restore the houses and gardens left behind by families fleeing a great calamity so that the families may return home and be together again. Like Dread Fields by this studio, The colours are gorgeous. I could just walk around admiring the hues and ambience of the landscape and feel completely at peace. We have collectibles once again! I love to find these and learn little bits of history and culture about the featured items. Meeting the families and hearing their stories can really tug on the heartstrings. A beautiful little game I enjoyed immensely. Another Jewel in Podoba's crown.
Beautiful
Ah... The Calamity. I'll be honest - as a Ukrainian, this was a bit of a tough play. While my personal experience as a refugee was a bit of the opposite of the one in the game (I left my beautiful busy Kharkiv to take shelter in a much smaller, calmer Khmelnytskyi) - the familiarity of it all struck quite a bittersweet chord. It's a tough story to tell with very real implications, but I feel that Back to Hearth succeeds in doing so with flying colors. I really appreciate the pacing here, as the game eases you into the understanding of what occurred and what is happening in the present quite gently, but in a guiding and non-condescending way. It felt very natural, and despite going in blind, I never really felt confused (except for that one time at the end
when I ran around the house and yard looking for a bottle of glue for a much longer period than I should've, haha
). I love how each chapter manages to tell a slightly different flavor of the same story - of lives halted, livelihoods abandoned, people and communities dispersing in order to survive. Personally, the story with the grandpa stuck with me the most,
as my own father chose to stay behind just the same - continuing to keep the house as close as it was back when we were all at home together. Him not wanting to part with his love's shawl especially was such a specific, real touch, together with the messy clothing and a bunch of logs saved in the house for convenience despite them blocking the main entrance. I have recently had to visit back home after my father had passed away, and the image was strikingly similar. Mess of clothing and things caused by the strain of loneliness and dreadful circumstances. Lots of things all around the house "just in case" so they're there if they're ever needed, and for convenience because the previous ways of getting things are now hazardous and require too much effort. And many, countless things that belong to loved ones, clinging to the hope of things going back to how they used to be.
A very personal comparison, I know, but the game itself felt very personal. It struck me just how real it all felt, from the smallest details to the overall greater picture and the plot. It's a job very well done in that regard. All in all, despite being a less engaging experience by the nature of its genre, it left a very tangible impact on myself, and I'm sure many others. Bittersweet, but greatly needed, I think. Besides that, the game is a wonderful experience, and can be quite educational to some, while nostalgic to the rest! Fully recommend, 11/10 :) May we all heal and reignite our Hearths soon <3
A gentle, cosy, crunchy, House Flipper-esque vibe, which paints a heart warming tale of finding closeness, and what it means for a house to be a home, with some exceptionally fast chickens. If you love a retro, low res, low poly aesthetic as much as I do, then you'll love this little gem, it peacefully fills a few hours.
